Right now I'm recuperating from a couple of (very) short nights. The "kids" are in their twenties, but Christmas is still an exciting time!

I'm making lists. I ordered a new laptop today and expected to be able to pick it up in the store on Tuesday after work (delivery of packages is very iffy in December, so I thought picking it up would be safer). However, when choosing the date of pick up I also got the option to pick it up tomorrow.

I had planned on spending at least two nights first decrapifying the laptop and then installing it. Now I should be able to set it up tomorrow. And on Saturday I'm treating myself to The Sims 4 to help me through the noisy night.

So now I'm making a list of software that I want to install.

I'm relaxing after a long morning that started with shampooing the rug. How that cat got ahold of ham we have no idea. We then watched some Christmas shows, ate breakfast, watched a movie and had lunch then opened a couple of presents.

I got a Power Cooker which is an Instant Pot knock off. Lots of chocolate and a pillow with a throw.

I also got an odd gift which I'm giving back. A Food Heating Lamp. Yes you heard me right. A heat lamp. My loopy lovely mother thought it heated food up. lol

Sweetpea got a stocking full of cat toys and cat nip. She's currently strung out on the stuff. I'm ready for a nap.

I must ask what does the food heating lamp do? Or is it like the heat lamps in some restaurants?

It's exactly that. One the cat could get hurt, two why would I leave food out when it's just two people, three it sounds like a fire hazard. She really thought it heated food up. I told her a microwave does that. lol I also use my oven for foods that would be soggy in the microwave.

I'll never know what she was thinking. She got my sister one too.

If I need to keep foods warm, I use my West Bend crockpot. It works as a very small oven.
Hubby has sort of set hours. Where he works closes at 7. But depending on customers and other stuff, he never gets out before 7:30. That is set time off. Reality is usually 7:45 to 8 before he gets to leave work. Unless I am running late with dinner then it might be 7:25 when he gets home.

As to what your mom was thinking, I have no clue.

Most go in the dishwasher but I have some tall wine glasses which have to be done by hand along with miscellaneous bits which don't fit in the machine.

It'll work out alright. The Spawn want to play their new video game so it is in their best interest to assist in the clean up.

Messing about with my new laptop. The bloatware wasn't too bad. I'm now almost done installing the basics and then I have to wait until it's done downloading and preparing for the installation of the windows updates.

I don't have a dishwasher either. I haven't missed it. But if I was hosting a holiday dinner, I would have help with the clean up.
But then I can disaster a kitchen just cooking for 2. I also do all the dishes.

Hey Blossom, every dish in one day could mean one of two things: you either have very few dishes or your hubby believes everything should have its own dish.
No, do not send him to my place unless he cleans the kitchen afterwards. That was not a challenge.
