Doesn't help for old stuff, but is making life significantly easier for downloading all these new freebies!

The sale is good through at least the 20th, so you haven't necessarily missed out. I'm not sure if it's good in Canada or not.

Add Joe Haldeman to his list. He's written some really great books, including the Hugo & Nebula award winning The Forever War (which isn't part of this sale). I saw at least one of his books in this giveaway, a short story collection.

More helpful information, I think. I say, "I think," because I bought so many books so fast that I can't remember if I got all of the ones that you mentioned. I'm going to have to go back and check.

Holy cow! What a sale! What fantasy authors would people recommend? I'm primarily looking for something more epic and quest oriented, or sword and sorcery. No sex getting in the way of the plot, and no bad language as knights who say f**k will knock me out of a story, no matter how good it is. I'll leave the cussing for my horror reads.
I'd also be interested in some classic, or classic style sci-fi recommendations. I have a harder time getting into much sci-fi outside of the styles of Asimov, Clarke, or Heinlein's earlier juvenile novels.
I'll also take supernatural and occult horror recommendations. If there is a logical explanation, I'm not interested.
Thanks for any help.

Amazon must have added that back when they started requiring exact matches in publisher names (quite a pain if you are looking for all the Harlequin imprints, of course).

So, this one gets them all, now:

Yesterday, there were 183 pages using this link.

Today, there appear to be 400 pages!

I wonder if they've added more titles or if Amazon has corrected something.

Perhaps all the pages I'm seeing are not active. (I meant 186, rather than 183.)

I am pretty sure they either added more books or the search is showing up more books. I am on my third go around. At first I was just looking for specific stuff. Now with my sister and niece's help I am doing a blanket grab of certain genres. We figured we could go through the books later and sort through them to get the ones we are most interested in. We are up to over 1100 books. We pretty much decimated the Children's Books, Science Fiction & Fantasy, Mystery and any book featuring a strong female lead.

My jaw is on the floor at this gift from Open Road Media. They have given us a free giveaway the likes of which I have never seen before.

Wrede also does a very interesting trilogy set in an alternative Old West, the Frontier Magic series. I recommend it.

If they're adding more books to their sale all along, that is really annoying. I'd like to be "one and done" with my searching. Instead, I'm having to go back through the whole sale selection over and over.

They must have taken their cue from the great University of Chicago sale (I use "great" sarcastically) of a couple of years ago. Those of you who monitor the Non-Fiction thread may remember it. They put out a bunch of sale books. Then a few days later they put out some more. Then a few days later, still some more. Then, the same thing maybe a couple of more times. What we had to do is to go back and look through the entire selection each time that they put out additional books, just in order to find the new ones. There apparently was no way to search for just the newly-added ones.

I've had some other bones to pick with UCP about their marketing, too. Just because you have a world-class department or two in academics at the school, doesn't mean that you know beans about publishing or marketing (I don't know beans about publishing, myself; but my academic background and most of my professional career has been in marketing). To their credit, it seems like they may have learned their lesson, because I haven't seen any more sales from them like that since that debacle.

All of that created a lot of ill will in me toward the University of Chicago, and especially their Press, and especially the marketing department (if they have one--I wonder) of their Press. I'm developing the same toward Open Road because of their shenanigans.
