[iOS] Connect via Dropbox, No Metadata.db File Found

I just got CC for my iPad. My Calibre library is in Dropbox, but when I try to connect, CC says "no metadata.db file found." Calibre on my Mac works fine, the metadata.db file is in my Calibre Library folder, and there doesn't seem to be a way to specify the path to that file (at least not that I can see). Any clues? Thanks |

Just to be 100% sure go to the web version of Dropbox and verify the metadata.db file is actually in the cloud folder where you think it is located. Good Luck. Moderator Notice Moved posts to their own thread. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 11-26-2016 at 07:12 AM.

If the files are definitely in Dropbox, then the next thing to check is whether you've accidentally somehow denied CC access to your Dropbox. (I think the error message would be different in this case, but it's worth checking anyway.) To check, log in to the Dropbox website, go to your account settings via the menu at the top right, then click on the Security tab. Towards the end of that page should be a section called "Apps Linked". CC iOS should appear in that list with permission type "Full Dropbox". If that's not there, I'm not entirely sure how to restore it. I think the easiest would be to go back to CC's settings menu, open the "Cloud Connection" section and then tap on "Reset cloud connection". When you try to connect again, it should go through the process again of asking you to give Dropbox permission to share your files with the app.

I get the same "no database files found" on Cloud

I have the same problem...but I cannot get any connections at all. (Separate thread will be posted) I am using the following systems/settings: 1) An iPhone 7 plus with iOS 10.2, and 2) Calibre Companion IOS installed 3) App connection to Dropbox (confirmed from within Dropbox > Security) 4) Calibre 2.74.0 on my MacBook Pro, running Sierra 5) The Calibre library is on my personal Dropbox, as "Calibre Library" in the root filesystem. 6) In this folder are the metadata.db and metadata_db_prefs_backup.json (confirmed from the command line and from within the web interface for Dropbox) I try to connect and I get the "no database files found" message I can supply logs etc L |

 Maybe a fix

Have you managed to download at least one book? If not - use the other methods (you have to manually do this in the settings), and download one book. Once there, it connected perfectly. |

Hi lukewest, thanks for reporting this bug here and in the other thread. I'll see what's causing it in the next update I do.
