Just over 100 for me too. And I fully intend to stop. That's over two years of reading for me. I think I scanned through all the mysteries and most of the SF.

Anyone else having problems in the past 10 minutes or so? I'm getting missing buy buttons and geo-restriction warnings on titles that do still give buy buttons. The party may be over or Amazon's having some major issues.

Same here. I'm wondering if some of those weren't meant to be free to begin with and they're trying to fix it.

That's what it seems like. I thought it was legit though since Open Road's Senior Digital Marketer was the one who posted it on Facebook and Twitter.

ETA: Maybe it's a wider Amazon problem? I'm now getting the message about books not being available in my country from other books, and Amazon keeps loading blank pages. Perhaps there's a greater backend issue.

Yes, it does appear to be a general Amazon issue.

I'll take the blame. Nearly the entire Shell Scott series was initially free and I went for it. That had to be it.

I picked up 166 -- mostly SF and the rest are Mysteries. And all were books that I was really interested in reading!

Now, has anyone had trouble downloading these? I download to Kindle for PC and then import (and disinfect) to Calibre. Fifteen of the 166 books apparently didn't download properly. They show up in the My Kindle Content folder with an EBOK suffix, and import into Calibre as an MBP file.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I had one book do that, but I just thought it was a fluke. Might have been when the troubles started. Probably related to whatever problems Amazon is having.

That links brings up all their print titles, non-free books, etc. Just clicking to limit to titles with Kindle editions drops the number to 6,655. Not all free, of course.

However, using Keywords instead of Publisher means you get quite a few freebies that are not actually from Open Road. The third one in that search is just one example.

Using the publisher name, you now get 1,200. That two more than yesterday and one more than this morning:

I'm not sure where the others are hiding, although this search turns up some more of them (along with unrelated books):

Don't count on it lasting until the 20th tho - I'm already seeing a number of these books marked as "unavailable", which usually happens when a publisher is fixing the prices after a big goofup.

Although--I personally think that it is stupid to post the information on social media and not on the company's website! Social media was (I am using the singular verb here because I'm using "social media" as a singular thing) created for, well, socializing, not advertising. The fact that social media (plural) have been able to monetize (boy, how they've been able to monetize!) their business is beside the point. Websites, while not created for advertising purposes, claimed that ground years before social media got into the act. Now, some companies--apparently Open Media is one of them--will ignore the Web when they advertise, and use only social media sites to do it! It doesn't make sense to me. And, personally, I hate all of the social media and stay away from it like I try to stay away from the Zika virus. I doubt that I'm the only one. Therefore, I think that companies are losing money when they skip using their websites for things like these.

In order to find the romance books you have to put in "Open Road Media Romance" there are over 200 titles. I grabbed them all yesterday in less than 20 minutes. in case it was a glitch.
