The Final Empire, book one of Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series is £0.99/€0.99/$0.99 at UK/European/Australian/New Zealand retailers.

It has often been on sale, but I don't think I've seen it as low as $0.99 in Australia or New Zealand before.

Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee is on sale at Amazon for 99 cents. It's one of the better SF novels out this year. Look for some recognition at the next awards season.

Yeah. For what it's worth, rather than relying on my own opinion (though I have read the book) I checked GoodReads and LibraryThing. Both show The Rock to be science fiction.
