Version 1.5.0 - 27 Nov 2016

Add support for Kindle Previewer 3.6 beta. (That is now the recommended version of the Previewer for use with this version of the plugin. It converts some books containing tables that previous versions could not.)

Capture log files during the first conversion attempt. This avoids the need to perform a second conversion to capture logs if the first one fails.

Automatically retry after conversion errors that occur inconsistently.

That is a typical error produced by the Kindle Previewer when there is something in the formatting of the book that it cannot convert.

To convert this particular book to KFX you will need to edit it to make it acceptable to the Previewer. Finding the exact cause of the error and fixing it can be difficult and time consuming. I cannot help with that.

I actually have good news, the plugin works! I had the hardest time trying to convert manga to KFX, and it works, if you take your pngs / jpgs (From a free and legal source, of course), place the manga pictures in a .zip, and run the zip file through Calibre, no problem.

I would like to know (in case I missed it), if there's a way to activate the rapid page turning (the manga feature that allows you to hold a finger on the screen and turn 7 pages per second, see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFogN0fMBAo)?

My PW3 reads the KFX manga just fine, but I cannot seem to use the rapid page turning feature available in KFX manga downloaded from Amazon. Am I missing something in the KFX output settings in Calibre?

You not created fixed layout KFX. It is just low quality generic book with images - so Kindle not enable any manga only features.

Currently Kindle Previewer KFX generator not support creating this type of content. You simply can't achieve your goal for now.

I can't get the 1.5.0 version of the plugin to work with kindle previewer 3.6 in OSX. It looks like they renamed the epubtokfxconverter-1.0.jar to epubtokfxconverter-2.0.jar.

getting the same error as t970. I was successful in opening up a epub file in the kindle previewer app itself. Would a list of files in the lib directory help?

I don't have a Mac to test with so finding a solution will be difficult.

Added: I now have a log to examine.

I have made a guess about what may be causing the error, but I cannot test it myself.

An experimental version of the plugin is attached to this post. If someone experiencing this problem would test it and report back it would be helpful.

Added: That didn't work. Test file removed.
