The Kindle is targeted - or marketed? - as a device which does not need computer interaction, so perhaps Kindlers in general are not as computer oriented or techie as people who use other devices? |

But I now have a shiny red Sony PRS 505 (Thank you, Hubby!!). So if the mods wish, they can change it? |

We've got two 505's so we are underepresented! And I didn't come to MobileRead because I had any trouble with admittedly crappy Sony software. I do not buy that argument at all.

However I do buy the argument that more Kindles are probably used by non-PC-literate people and so are not represented here for that reason. How many regular MobileRead members also regularly watch Oprah? I suspect the populations don't overlap much but I'm just showing my bias. |

In the absence of a Blackberry or generic cellphone option, I selected the one labelled "iphone, ipod, pda" in addition to the Sony 505 and Amazon Kindle.

I definitely read more books on the Kindle than the other two combined & tripled, but I wouldn't give either of them up. The Sony is ideal for reading in the car at night since the lovely light in the light-wedge cover doesn't bother hubby as he's driving. And I read books on my Blackberry while other folks are checking their e-mail. I put Mobipocket reader onto the Kindle especially for "stealth" reading. |

and the Palm (in many different versions, several of which I have) and a generic "smart phone" (the Mogul works about as well as the iphone and I'm more likely to have it, as in 100% of the time vs. ummmmm ... almost never, as I use it for audiobooks at my desk).
