Sadly, not valid for existing Dropbox Pro or Business accounts...darn! Thought about gifting to my son, but he isn't anywhere near his Dropbox limit at the moment.

I still wonder how many sales they (and others who do the same thing) are giving up with the "no expandable storage". I would have jumped on this (and probably would have bought sooner at a higher price) if it had expandable storage, but simply won't buy without it - even 16GB internal only wouldn't be enough - 8GB is ridiculous.

I know they probably see this as a way to keep you in the Amazon ecosystem, streaming everything, and/or want to make you pay their price for on-board memory, but I have to think that there's a reason the 8 GB versions are showing up on Woot!

They're primarily on Woot because it's a more than 2 year old discontinued model. I doubt they need to keep many refurb's around for warranty replacement at this point so they're dumping them using one of their other sites. All of the newer Fire models have card slots.

During BF weekend I used Alexa to order a Dot. I thought I would be getting a $10 gift card for doing so, but when it never materialized, I figured I had done it wrong, or had already used the promo. Well, it showed up today! Yippee!

My bookshelf isn't here. I told the post office I'll pick it up because the mail carrier is a substitute and lied about attempting delivery and then leaving a slip. No one knocked and no slip in mailbox or door. I did get the wireless mouse in my mailbox though. They were ordered together.

You have to be careful on eBay to avoid counterfeits. eBay's gotten better about policing it, but it's pretty much impossible for them to catch all of it. If it's significantly cheaper than any other listings, check ratings carefully. Here's a guide on spotting counterfeits and what to do if you end up with one.

Don't take this to mean all the DVDs on eBay are counterfeits! Just that you have to be careful because some people will try to scam you with a counterfeit.

That and Woot is owned by Amazon, so it's not at all surprising for Amazon to dump their surplus refurbs through the site.

For my (post) Black Friday shopping, I bought our family a Nucleus Intercom 2-pack. It was an Alexa deal the other day, $300 for the pack instead of $400. It's basically a pair of limited tablets, with optional wall mounts. https://www.amazon.com/Nucleus-Anywh...ywords=nucleus

They work via wifi so your sets can be spread anywhere in the world. We have one at our elderly parents, so we can check in on them visually more easily. The other is on the main level, so we can use the phone apps to check in on our daughter. They also have Alexa built in.

So hubby just got back from the post office. It took them 30 minutes but they finally found my shelf. It's the first time we had a problem. I got it put together waiting for the shelves to be filled with books and stuff.

A lot of these deals don't appear to be new, at least to me...maybe I'm missing something, but I looked at the ones for yesterday and there was one thing worth posting (it was actually a book deal). (TubeMonkey is not to blame, of course.)
