No Dot for me today. It's delayed due to "operating conditions," which I don't quite understand, as it arrived at the local facility last night, just a couple of miles away. Oh well.

You can borrow up to 10 books at a time with Prime Reading. There's not a lot of books available, but I've found first in series that are available with the rest of the series in the Kindle owners lending library.

It is 6 days after Black Friday and 3 days after Cyber Monday. 2 day shipping means overloaded delivery systems.

I ordered two items yesterday, Thursday Dec 1, and both were Prime 2-day shipping. The earliest the first could be delivered via free Prime 2-day delivery is Monday Dec 5. The earliest the second could be delivered via free Prime 2-day delivery is Sunday Dec 4. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Okay I don't need either item in 2-days, and clearly the weekend is in the middle of this. However, it seems odd that the item I ordered early on Thursday morning won't be delivered until Monday, but the item I ordered after 5:00pm Thursday evening will get delivered on Sunday. Both items are shipping from my metro area warehouse/distribution center that is within 30 miles of my house. I had an item I ordered last week on Wednesday with Prime 2-day that didn't get delivered until Tuesday of this week. Amazon is all too happy to charge extra for next day or Saturday delivery, but they seem to be getting lax on keeping their 2-day deliveries within two days.

In the UK Prime shipping is 1-day, so typically next day delivery. I nearly ordered something earlier today until I saw that the 1-day delivery would be on... Tuesday 6th erm, no thanks. I bought the stuff from somewhere else.

Great for the weather enthusiasts amongst us!

Out of curiosity I asked what the forecast was for Christmas and got the reply "I only have weather information for the next ten days"

Then I asked
"Ask Accuweather (skill, already enabled) what the forecast is for Christmas and got the reply

"I only have weather information for the next fifteen days".

I like Accuweather because it gives the 'real feel' temp.

It seems, though, by the time either gives me the full forecast I've forgotten what the current temperature is!

It's also fun when online friends say it's cold where they are to ask her "What's the weather in [insert city]" to see what their definition of cold is.
