Thanks, Brian

I don't think I have two accounts - I started with Amazon several years ago before they had Amazon Australia, but have bought from Amazon Australia. And the emails they sent me after my initial purchases went to the same email address as the one from this afternoon's purchase. And I signed in with the same email address and password.

As mentioned in my last post I went to the Amazon store and the initial page to try to download from there again. Still the same message that the ebooks had been downloaded to my Kindle without them appearing on the Kindle.

The end result seems to be that Amazon will not permit me to download ebooks to my computer, and won't permit me to buy ebooks by going to the store through my computer. But they will permit me to buy ebooks directly from the Kindle. This makes no sense at all to me.

I've bought the other two ebooks that I wanted - they are on my Kindle. I want to get them into my calibre library. I don't know calibre any better than I know Amazon; is there a way of getting the ebooks into calibre directly from the Kindle? I suppose this is a calibre forum question more than a Kindle forum question.

I found that I had three accounts, all slightly different. I'm quite old and my memory is failing, but I have no recollection whatever of deliberately setting up three accounts. They all had the same postal address, but there were slight variations in the phone number and in the name.

I deleted two of the accounts, but still can't download from Amazon to my Windows 10 computer, though I did that routinely when I was running Windows 7. I still can't download from Amazon to my Kindle. I can still order and from my Kindle and get it on my Kindle, but the files are in KFX format so I can't put them in calibre to change to ePub.

Ok...I would bet you that the Kindle is registered to a different account from the one that you are looking at on your computer. One way to check is to look at the settings on your Kindle, and check what the "Send-to-Kindle" email is. Once you've determined what that is, check the Personal Document Setting on the Settings tab of the Manage Your Content and Devices page. If they don't match, then your Kindle is registered to a different account.
