Yea once I got a good h2o it was quite fantastic. I sold it to get a Kobo one as i was quite in love with the new coloured screen. But this past experience with 2 Kobo ones and the customer service leads me to not ever want to give them money. I don't usually feel so strongly but they really kept repeatedly screwing up really badly.
I understand the drm thing and that's no problem. I like all my purchases in one place but obviously that will have to change. I really regret selling the h2o as it was really handy on the beach and in the 2 yrs, never had an issue. |

I don't know if there are any separate limits on the "Send To Kindle" tool specifically. Perhaps someone else can advise on that. |

I liked the overdrive feature (partly why I wanted the Kobo one) but not enough to warrant dealing with them anymore. I tested the send to kindle and was really impressed however am worried how many times it will let me do so. I would like to transfer everything that way, to alleviate feeling like I lost all the syncing functionality of my Kobo purchases

^ thanks so much Harry, that's good to know. I really like that feature. If they didn't have it I would've felt more stuck with kobo

I put books in my Amazon cloud library to read them. I mostly buy my books from Amazon but I occasionally get them elsewhere and when I'm ready to read one it goes to my library to be downloaded to my Kindle regardless of where I bought it. I've contacted Amazon to be sure I won't get in trouble doing this and they've told me it's fine.
I don't keep a lot of converted books in my library at any one time. I'll put the books there I'm expecting to read in the next few weeks. When I read them or decide to put them off for a while I'll remove them. At any given time I probably have 20 to 50 books there. I've been doing this since I first became aware that I could send books to my Kindle via email, several years ago. It's never been a problem and Amazon support says they have no problem with it regardless of the source of the books. I realize I didn't really answer your question. I have no idea about a numerical limit. It's not an issue for me. But I tried to mention some related issues in case it helps. Barry |

I'm sorry to hear this. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The only thing holding Kobo back from being #1 is Kobo. Now that they are just a subsidiary, innovation is held back even more. Safe actions yield safe, predictable profits.

Actually, some of what Amazon has been doing, Kobo did first. Also, Kobo has the H2O with a 6.8" screen and the Aura One with a 7.9" screen. Kobo is more innovative than Amazon. I don't consider the Oasis to be an innovation. The last Kindle that was an innovation was the Voyage.

I don't agree that the Oasis isn't pretty innovative but I do agree that Kobo has been at least as innovative as Amazon and maybe more so.

If only there was a sureshot way to turn "innovation" into quality and reliability. It almost seems like they are opposing forces...

I don't see much connection between innovative and quality. An excellent example from the portable media player days was Archos, which was possibly the most innovative company of them all. And they made the most unreliable devices. I usually had to return 2 or 3 to get a good one. Once I got that good one they held up just fine. In fact I still have one that works just fine as long as I keep it plugged in and it's probably close to 10 years old.

Well, I received my Kindle and I love it!
Only big problem is my books purchased elsewhere when side loaded .. most of the time they are missing covers and show as a DOC. Others are okay. It's annoying, but it's okay. Manually changing covers and ISBN worked for some but not many. I wish I converted sooner. Screen is better (contrast), feels more solid and is faster. I will miss the Georgia and Malabar, though. Also I wish the case was more like the pics (the purple). Years ago when I bought my first e-reader (Kobo touch), Kobo seemed like the right idea in Canada at the time but I wish I never bothered with them. This kindle is excellent, I am quite happy!! |

Same but a weird part of me..it still bugs me haha. Especially because I bought them so I wanted them to show. Also to remember the 500ish books. I found side loading the acz3 (sp?), Some would work. Then if I tried mobi or send to kindle, different ones would work instead. I spent a whole day trying to fix it then gave up. Lol
