Worst case, you're out the few additional minutes of effort, and you can confirm your decision to swear off future Alexa deals, but there is a very good chance that another CSR will have the sense to handle the issue the far more efficient way of just crediting you the price difference.

It's worked for me.

If it doesn't, and you can float the expense, you can also just order the cheaper machine, get the return going for the more expensive one, and as soon as the new machine arrives, just slap the return label on the unopened new box and send it back as the return.

Well it certainly makes no sense to me to be brand loyal to any big company. You might like and even prefer some brands and ecosystems over others due to past experience, but they are ALL in the business of giving you the business, so to speak. It would be incredibly naive to think any company gives a care in the world about you on a personal level. They don't. They just see $$$ signs when they look at you. Business is business. It is all about making the most profits. All companies will do what they think is best for increasing profit, and that usually means we get fewer perks as time goes on. It is the old bait and switch. Pretend to love the customers, give them what appears to be great deals and perks, then after you have a huge customer base slowly begin pulling back on the perks and raising the prices and fees. In other words, the big companies can start out with lower profits to build up a huge clientele, then start charging more and giving away less until their profits soar. If I'm not mistaken, Amazon showed nothing but financial loss for the first several years of their existence. It was planned as a necessary route to eventual profits and market domination. It worked.

I'd probably wait the extra day and keep the second shipment, just in case something doesn't match up with the paperwork.

Anyone else having issues with Audible books syncing between Echo devices? I will start a book on one of my Dots, pause it, and then resume on another Dot. Often it will not have synced to the furthest point so I have to mess around in the app to find where I stopped listening.

I already contacted Amazon but the response wasn't super helpful. I'm hoping maybe someone here might know something I'm missing.

I don't listen to Audible books, but I have issues with Kindle books mucking up the sync between devices. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen far too often. I find that I have to close the book or manually hit Sync before switching devices. If I just turn the device off with the book open, it often hasn't synced lately. Perhaps something similar is going on with the Dots. Maybe try closing the Audible book on the Dot before switching to another Dot and see if that forces a sync.

I got an extra Dot and a TP Link too however totally underwhelmed by the UK discounts... Also miffed that the slow shipping credits are up to £3 for BF (yay!) but for Prime Now (boo!) and only 1 set of credit per PN order... utterly useless for me. I was hoping for £3 digi credits like last year...The net result is that I'm ordering fewer things and whatever I get is going to come next day delivery (or same day when available - just because I'm annoyed with them)

ust ordered the Echo Dot. Interested in recommendations for a home thermostat to control with the Echo Dot. Both through voice when at home and remotely via tablet when away. Nothing fancy needed. Just adjust temperature set point.
