Troubleshooting Non default Kindle languages

Hi, I'm from Croatia and I usually read my books in English.
Sometimes I need a translation of a word but considering Kindle doesn't have Croatian language or dictionary I just check the meaning of the word in the English dictionary.

I was wondering if there is a way to add another language on to the system?
I thought I would be able to chose which language to translate to but it only offers devices default languages.

If you can find an English to Croatian dictionary, you should be able to do it by changing the dictionary's metadata so that the Kindle thinks it's an English dictionary. All you'd need to do then would be to select that dictionary as your "English" dictionary.

You can purchase a translation dictionary like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/ENGLISH-CROAT.../dp/B004CRSR1G

and it will become one of the dictionaries you can use with English (as it is free in Kindle Unlimited, I just tried it, it works fine).

If you have a smartphone, you can probably use something like Google or Bing Translate app to translate the English you see on screen.
