[Android] CC Beta 5.2.2

V5.2.2.1 (Beta)

My old development computer died. The main purpose of this beta is to test that I have set up the new machine correctly
Add xls and ppt as valid extensions
Updated language: Slovak

And just for fun, because I can, and because I am chuffed to bits, here is a picture of my new grandson Sylvain, 7 weeks old in this picture. He is our first grandchild. Our second, a granddaughter, arrives in January.

Traveling to see Sylvain is why I haven't been very responsive. One third the way around the world is a long trip.

V5.2.2.2 (Beta):

Add publisher to cloud book details
Add publisher to the first level list of items in the cloud connection. You can remove it in "Show items to display"
[BUG FIX]Fix publisher not being saved when downloading books in the cloud connection. It was always set to empty.
[BUG FIX]Fix making clickable links in cloud book details to items that are not shown on the first level

I don't use any of the cloud stuff so I don't think I can be much help with testing this time.

This problem may have been around since the addition of the Night View feature, but I've only just noticed it. The last item of the Settings screen - 'Other' - is obscured on my Samsung Note3 (Android 5.0) when in Night View. If you tap in the correct blank area the Other submenu does appear, but only helpful if you already know it's there. When not in Night View all looks OK.

Calibre showing 2 files on device for recently sent despite having 1 only
I am having a problem with the latest version of calibre companion and calibre. Calibre shows that I have 2 books on device despite having only 1. I deleted those files resent but after disconnecting and connecting calibre companion it shows as having 2 files again on my device. Its only happening with the latest files sent. This started maybe yesterday. And the same error on 2 different devices.
Calibre companion version is 5.2.2.2 (351) and calibre version is the latest.

Sorry for the repost didn't realise I was on the beta version. Anyone else having this problem.

I don't think this has anything to do with the beta because nothing changed in file handling in either calibre or CC.

I was able to make this fail using the Android 5 emulator. It doesn't fail on 4.3, 5.1, or 6.

Fix will be in the next beta.

V5.2.2.3 Beta 3

Changes:

Add the UUID as a permitted CC template field
When doing a scan-on-connect during wireless device connection, use an ignore-case comparison to check for files already in the database. This avoids problems on case-insensitive file systems (almost all SD cards and main memory in some devices) when an item like "authors" or "tags" changes case. For example, if a book in the library points at the file "Science Fiction/Foo Bar - Title" but the file itself has the path "Science fiction/Foo Bar - Title" then the file is considered as matching the book.

I promoted V5.2.2.3 to production status this morning, and released the demo and amazon versions.
