Yes, but it isn't clear to me where in the process "knowledge" of the lack of Greek characters come in. If the characters are in the new TTF files (which I am also not sure is the case) then perhaps they get used. I agree that it is a long shot.

See Integrated FBReader 0.8.14 with ePub and Registry Support, post #40. With this change you can create a ZIP file containing your .prc file and have it opened by FBReader (instead of MobiPocket Reader). FBReader 0.8.14 uses DejaVu Sans fonts by default, and I'm fairly sure this includes Greek characters. The only remaining issue might be the character encoding, which FBReader does not auto-detect for MOBI files. At least one of the two MOBIs you tried (UTF8 and windows-1252) should work.

The MobiPocket Reader implementation on the iLiad is very weak and lacking in features. It has the poorest implementation of it of any eInk device. You probably are a lot better off with PDFs.

If someone is trying to make a Mobi book which uses non-Roman characters, it perhaps is useful to make the point that they will struggle to read it on the iLiad. IMHO, therefore, it's a useful point to make.

When it comes to yourself, being so generous and kind, huh? Hope you judge other people's words in the same standards.

For books in languages that use the Roman alphabet then I'm completely in agreement with you - Mobi has many benefits over PDF in terms of being able to easily change the font size, look up words in a dictionary, and so on. |

I understand that, but in this particular case I think you'd be better off with PDF. Since you're starting out with a PDF document and having to reformat it anyway in order to turn it into Mobi, it might be a better idea to reformat the PDF itself so that it works better. Embed the fonts into the PDF and resize it so that the PDF uses the correct screen size of the iLiad. If you do that, then it should be just as good as reading it in Mobi on the iLiad, and a lot easier to do than trying to install additional fonts with the developers kit.
