1) to understand that this feature exists
2) feature is switched off as general setting one must switch it on for those who would use it.

As for the blowing up (filesize):
Limit it to f.i. 64kb if it gets bigger, original file is renamed to:
dictionary_word_actual_date.txt

For those who use different languages:
Filename could even be:
dictionary_name_used_words.txt

Hi Brucelee,

I've only just migrated to firmware 5 as the new version provides sorting by filename. Of course I installed CR3 and copied Webster to system/dictionaries.

The latest CR3 works better, and it is easier to leave the dictionary. In the older version I had to touch the exact pixel, so it seemed, and sometimes it took the better part of a minute to get out of the dictionary. Now it is just one touch.

I have one question now I have started using the dictionary again: can you make the font bigger? I use an Inkpad, and high resolution makes the dictionary font very small. My eyes are getting a bit older now, and the dictionary is very hard to read. I would love that.

Oh, now I see the font is already large for words that are in the dictionary. When I select words that aren't, I see a list of words, but those are in really tiny font.

@brucelee: You'll need to change extensions.cfg for the Pocketbook Touch HD. AdobeViewer.app and fbreader.app are no longer installed on the device. The original reading app is called "eink-reader.app". If this is inserted next to CR as an alternative for epub files, the new beta firmware creates an "open with" menu with these choices and it actually works. So you can choose between CR and the original app if you want to use TTS.

Huh! I looked on the Inkpad with the latest firmware (5.15) and the app is still called AdobeViewer.app. However, I see that they put back the "Open with" menu item. Hooray! Thanks for pointing out that that feature was returned.

It seems I'm the only one which I can't change the font.. I've tried with "default font face" in the main menu and "font face" in style settings, there is no change.
What can I do ?

On my inkpad2, For the open with menu, I only get the default apps, and not custom one like CR or pbimageviewer.

Sometimes when the font is embedded in the book file it is not possible to change it. You'll need to remove the font with Calibre.

They changed this on the Touch HD.

Thanks LucyOne, and a last question, where is the dictionary folder ? Is in the system folder ? Because when I'm trying to open it I've an error message "open dictionary error", something like that ..

The dictionary folder is system\dictionaries, files should be in .dic format.

You can try:

Style settings/Document embeded styles Off
Font settings/Document embeded fonts Off
