I don't think you can boow books from OpenLibrary through OverDrive.

I was about to buy Kobo Aura One, but it seems to be Not in Stock in many shops all around. Only some claim to have it (not many). I wonder is it going to be out of production (replaced by some new batch).

Not sure what I should do:
- buy one now and risk the issues people having with screen (the battery issue seems to be resolved by new firmwares)
- wait for new batch or risk no Aura One at all?

I got mine just a few weeks ago from Indigo. I live in the US. It took a week for them to ship, (I think they only ship US items once a week) but it arrived at my house two days before it was scheduled to. I did have to go to the USPS to get it and sign for it. And they don't take the Kobo's back for returns.

They still show as in stock on the Indigo page.

I Love mine! I've been reading a lot on my iPad Mini, but that burns my eyes up and I have to take a break after a while and read on eInk for a week or so before I can go back. Since the Aura One is just a little wider and a little shorter than the mini, it feels natural. I really like the bigger screen.

The light on mine has been fine, and I don't notice any problems while reading. Setting the light can be a bit annoying, as the control likes to jump back a few notches when I try to set it higher. I haven't noticed any battery problem, but it did update right after I got it out of the box so hoping I won't see a problem in the future.

Then again, I'm used to plugging the iPad in every night, so it's just normal for me to plug the Aura One in after I'm done reading. But I haven't noticed any big battery drains while using it, or after it sits for a bit.

The interface is very slow, but I expected that since I've had a Kobo before. And it also tended to get really sluggish when it's loaded up full. That's not bothering me too much, since I enjoy it once I get the book open and start reading.

Is it slower than other Kobos? I'm coming from an original Aura so curious as to whether the KA1 will be faster or slower.

Kind of disappointing to hear that it is slow, I have the Aura HD, and I often wish the interface was a bit faster. However, I do plan to order one anyway!

Has anyone who bought one from Indigo had to return a device to Kobo for issues? Just wondering whether Kobo makes it any worse exchanging devices under warranty if purchased elsewhere than Kobo. Heaven knows it can be painful enough if you purchase direct from them! 3 tries was the charm on the Aura HD before I got a decent one.

Kind of hoping the reason the ONE's been out of stock for so long is that they are working on getting the comfort light more even and any battery or cover issues straightened out! Don't mind waiting a bit longer!

It is the new premium model that's just been released, why on earth would Kobo kill it off?

Isn't it waaaay more likely that they got more orders than expected and they're just supply constrained?

Possibly they're also trying to improve the screen consistency at the factories, so that might be contributing to the limited supplies.

I think they may not have expected just how popular it would be! I certainly can't believe they'd kill it off *before* the holidays. And unlikely afterwards as well to my mind, because that would mean they'd have nothing special to offer the market.

It's hard being patient though!

I found the speed to be most noticeable when putting files on the Kobo Aura ONE and waiting for them to be processed; it was significantly faster than the H20, and a little faster than the Aura.

The page turns are also a bit faster, but maybe that's just me . I still find navigating the Collections pages to be a bit slow, especially with a lot of books in some collections.

The book processing speed is the firmware version. There is a big improvement in the 4.1 firmware compared to the 3.19.

The page turns are also a bit faster, but maybe that's just me . I still find navigating the Collections pages to be a bit slow, especially with a lot of books in some collections.

Opening the collections list is horribly slow if there are any collections that have lot of books in them. It's always been like this and I have no idea what the code is doing that could be so slow.

Hello, in the manual it says charge with 5v 500mA mini usb adapter, is it ok charging the aura one with 5v 1A wall adapter? For example with iphone adapter? Thanks.
