Seriousness Cubs Win the World Series 2016

A nail biter for both sides. I was somewhat cheering for the Cubs. I didn't pay attention to the first three games. After that, I watched bits of the remaining games.

I was mildly rooting for the Indians since I'm more familiar with AL teams and players, even though I respect the NL for playing by the rules and not having a DH. But no matter what, a great Series and it's always satisfying when it's won by an old baseball team from an old baseball city (there's one exception to that) and even better when two such teams battle it out.

I wouldn't go so far to call myself a fan - I seldom watch any sports. But my father is a rabid Indians fan, so I watched to share the experience with him. That last game - jeez, my stomach was in knots!

That said, I can be happy for my online friends you've been long-time Cub's fans who've finally gotten their win!

I suppose it just proves that curses do not last forever.

"The Curse of the Billy Goat was a sports-related curse supposedly placed on the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball franchise in 1945 by Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis that lasted in a 71-year period from 1945 to 2016. Because the odor of his pet goat, Murphy, was bothering other fans, Sianis was asked to leave Wrigley Field, the Cubs' home ballpark, during game 4 of the 1945 World Series. Outraged, Sianis allegedly declared, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more," which has been interpreted to mean that either the Cubs would never win another National League (NL) pennant, or that they would never again win a World Series."
