Yes, Both Mac OS X 10.11 and 10.12 suffer from this inability to bring windows to the front. It has nohing to do directly with Sigil. This did not happen much in 10.10. I have found no solution. Simply look at the Finder Dock and click the Python icon there to bring that Window to the front.
I have seen the same behaviour with Mail, Safari, and Excel windows opening under other apps on 10.11 and 10.12. Hopefully Apple will fix this soon. KevinH |

Huge thank you to DiapDealer for the help given! I'm up and running with Sigil 0.9.7 with both Flightcrew and Epubcheck plugins installed. Glad the interface and look hasn't changed too radically!
Think I will like the Clips section! Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk |

Sigil 0.9.6 kept, at least it did for me, the PunctuationSmarten popup in the foreground. Running that version after installing 0.9.7 results in the same change with popup in the moving to the background. The popup format (fonts and sizes) changed as well. No way to revert back. Sigil 0.9.7 is a pretty good update. So thanks for the team's efforts on the update, and past updates as well. |

Here is a possible plugin problem that I flagged when I tried to download and install Doitsu's new Epubcheck 0.3.8 plugin today. What follows is re-posted from Doitsu's Epubcheck plugin thread:
I tried downloading the new EpubCheck 0.3.8 plugin to replace my older version(0.3.7) on Sigil today. Unfortunately the new version failed to install and gave me this error: Plugin plugin.xml is invalid or not supported on your operating system. I then tried to re-install the older Epubcheck 0.3.7 version and that also failed to install with the same error. One reason that might have something to do with this problem is the new version of Sigil 0.9.7 which KevinH released a day or so ago that I downloaded yesterday. Has the plugin.xml spec or handling been changed? I've been running the new Sigil 0.9.7 version on Windows 8 for the last day or so. __________________ Last edited by slowsmile; 11-02-2016 at 02:41 AM. |

I don't think that this problem is related to Sigil 0.9.7, because the message is also displayed if the plugin zip file was renamed.

Hi
I have Sigil 0.97 and use the Epubcheck 0.38 plugin without any problem. Linux Arch 64 bits. What's great is that one can go immediately to the place of any warning or error by just clicking on the reporting line. Quite a time-saver. Last edited by roger64; 11-02-2016 at 06:02 AM. |

@Doitsu...As I've already mentioned on your thread, I didn't rename the plugin zip file. I never rename plugin files before I install them.
And as I've already said on your thread, my old Epubcheck version(0.3.7) was inherited by Sigil 0.9.7 when I installed it and worked fine. Then I uninstalled my old 0.3.7 version of Epubcheck before I installed the new version which failed to install. Then, when I tried to reinstall the older version of Epubcheck, that also failed with exactly the same error. That would therefore seem to point to a problem with the new Sigil version(which does contain new changes to the plugin interface). I'm using Sigil on Windows 8. I used 0.9.7 pretty extensively yesterday, and it seems to do pretty well. I like what you've done to the GUI, it looks cleaner and easier to read.
But I can definitely say that the issue with the disappearing search/replaces hasn't gone away, even with my update to SP1. I think maybe it's the same with clips, but I've only added one--the sample clips do pretty well what I need to do for now. Of course, maybe I'm pushing it by having seven windows open at the same time. (I'm working on a collection of short stories, and to make them consistent, I keep all open while I'm working on them.) A big thank you for the time you spend to make our lives easier! |

My guess is he has not checked the use internal python box and is somehow trying to use an external python 2.7 version which is no longer allowed. |
