Any reports yet on Cold Case or Day One? I know they are supposed to be available as of November 1st, but sometimes someone is able to read it earlier...

I also read about an other upcoming short story: A Fistful of Warlocks which handles about Lucio in the Old West. No date announced yet though.

I really wish he would speed up writing a bit...

Any new urban fantasy or fantasy series anyone would like to recommend till the a new Jim Butcher books comes out.
I am currently on the last book of Rachel Aaron heartstrikers from the name of the books and series names sounded like romantic fantasy but it is more of YA/ Urban Fantasy

You probably already know Benedict Jacka with his 'Alex Verus' series and Ben Aaronovitch with his Peter Grant series. You could try Lev Grossman with his Magicians series (YMMV).

Try Jeff Wheeler (any of his series) - none are urban though. Muirwood I have finished both trilogies (minus the graphic novel which I won't read, can't say anything about quality) and enjoyed very much. Kingfountain was supposed to be only one trilogy, but will now have a second trilogy (to be finished next year) and a prequel. I cannot comment on his Mirrowen series yet as I just started that one this week, but all the others are based / inspired by real events from the past. No universe is set on planet earth, they are each in their own fantasy world. Other than the magic itself there is no modern or advanced technology present.

Kingfountain is about politics and war while Muirwood is more good versus evil.
