I've booked my next reading retreat. Mid January, a full week and I decided to splurge on the Extra Luxury Apartment. Which means that I have a sauna (which I will use once or twice), washing machine and dryer (so I can do my laundry before going home), a better bed, a fancy coffee machine (which I won't use) and guaranteed views over the lake. I decided to splurge a bit and book a specific apartment, which is on a higher floor, that way I have more privacy and even better views over the water.

Only 100 days to go (I didn't plan it that way).

After mucking about for over an hour with the software of my electronic cutting machine to make one layer of a Christmas card I want to make I gave up and decided to spend €20 on a set of dies so I can cut them with my manual machine.

It will probably mean I'll make less of those cards, but I can make them a bit extra special. I've decided to work with a three tier system for the Christmas cards this year, because last year's cards took too long to make. I will make a easy cards for the acquaintances, business relations and my sister's friends. For closer friends and family I'll make a more elaborate card and for only a few people I'll make a really, really nice and time consuming card.

I finally got well enough to get my flu shot today (irony, huh?) ... and it's made me a bit sick ... again ... oh well, I'm thinking the worse I feel today, the stronger the immunological response to the shot ... probably bogus, but it makes me feel better

I have never gotten a flu shot. That could be because everyone I know that got the shot was in bed with the flu the next week.
Took microbiology in college so sorry not introducing a virus into my body on purpose.

I also avoid chlorine when I have respiratory problems. I never want chlorine induced pneumonia (checked with poison control) again.
That disease will knock you on your butt for at least 2 weeks and another 4 weeks to get over the exhaustion.

Usually but this year they haven't announced any. My mom had to get hers through her doctor and she usually gets them free through another source. I guess lack of funds maybe?

I almost died from the flu Christmas 2013. People who don't get a shot are playing Russian roulette with their life. It just takes one time to be infected with a severe version of it. I'd get one if I had the means. Last year I had the flu it went into pneumonia ruined my holidays again. I want to get one this year.

Please avoid bleach if you can.

I just read another post by you. How many cats does your mom have? My mom has 13 or so. They had to put one to sleep last month.

1 cat, 2 dogs.

I'm deadly allergic to bleach like Clorox. If I get near bleach it's not pretty. Just the smell can make really sick. I need to bleach the cat room but I can't. My sister or hubby will have to do it while I leave for a few hours.

Hubby didn't believe me when we got married 16 years ago. He thought he could sneak some into his laundry. He learn real quick that I wasn't joking. One minute I was fine then I got woozy and boom my legs went out from under me and I couldn't breath. I didn't smell anything. I don't buy anything with bleach added. The only that doesn't bother me is Comet cleaner. I don't know why it doesn't bother me but everything else does.
