For what it's worth, I originally had the battery drain problem but I turned my wifi back on and haven't had the issue since. I'm waiting for the patch so I can turn my wifi off again but battery life hasn't been a concern since.

I found that when I disable auto sync then leave that screen and then return that the checkbox is checked for auto sync so it's never disabled. I wonder if sync is trying to work even (or especially) when wifi is disabled and trying over and over to sync draining the battery as it goes.

This has been identified - there is a workaround in the thread here that turns off the autosync. Last edited by Willa; 10-11-2016 at 03:25 PM. |

v4.1.7729 You can now return library books when done Something else about curated lists again this is an overdrive thing, no other changes listed we shall see if the battery issues are fixed or not, I haven't had many issues with the battery myself though. I think we need a new thread for the new firmware as this one is just too long to wade through to find messages relating to the new firmware.
I've started a new thread for the new firmware. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...34#post3409434 Last edited by JSWolf; 10-11-2016 at 06:29 PM. |

I'm still trying to get the firmware downloaded, Kobos servers seem very slow for me at the moment

battery drain issue Kobo Aura One statistic
I want to share my statistic with you, to try to be more precise (I am italian (unlucky) and new in this forum, sorry for my english).
I Bought the kobo Aura One November 4, 2016 and after sucessfully done the update firmware 4.1.7729 two times after manual and automatic reset but still have battery issue.
What you suggest me to do? Last edited by die; 12-01-2016 at 05:17 AM. Reason: kobo aura one battery drain update |

For your second to last result losing 10% per hour, what are you doing? Reading books? Reading pocket articles? Continuously syncing? Using the web browser? The last two do use more power than simply reading. For your last result, I've noticed an occasional drop when turning my KA1 off and back on but not in the range of 1% per 3 hours. What I've seen is approximately 1% whether I leave it off for 1 hour or 24 hours. I suspect the housecleaning before the power off and the restore on power on take more watts than I had expected. I have been reading on iPad Mini 4 since they came out. I borrowed a friends Kindle paper white and was instantly interested in eReaders. I went out and bought a Aura One and been using it for about a week. It's a frustrating device when your used to something like the iPad. Battery life is no where near what the iPad is. Read the Aura One for 4 hours with 8% front light, wifi off. Battery life is at 45% I have to charge the Aura One every two days. iPad Mini 4, with wifi on, screen brightness as close to the same as the Aura One and I'm 83% I am charging the iPad Once a week normally. Reading on the iPad I need rest my eyes after about 45 mins and on the Aura One I can read for about 2 hours straight. Not sure how big the battery is in the Aura One, but it isn't anything close to 5124 mAh of the iPad Mini 4........

45% battery after 4 hours seems wrong. Have you updated your KA1's firmware and done a factory reset? According to the FCC test report the KA1 has a 1200mAh battery. |
