I'm very thankful to get a response from you so quickly, sadly I have to report bad news (at least on my end) I'm now getting doubles of every chapter. The first version has 'v' at the top followed by the chapter text, then it will be 'Chapter 1' followed by the same chapter text then again 'v', etc. But if you were able to make this adjustment so quickly, I'm hopeful this won't be too difficult for you to fix.

I'm not seeing that problem--at least not with the story URL you posted before.

If it's a different story URL, you can PM it to me. Failing that, you could upload an example epub with the problem some where and PM me the link.

I don't know why Desat is seeing extra chapters--I can but assume that they are using different settings on the site that I can't find that cause the site to show extra links.

Desat has sent me some epubs showing the problem and I've uploaded a test version that does include the previously missing chapters from the one example story URL of that problem while also not including the 'v' chapter URLs from the example epubs of that problem.

So; I believe I've fixed the problems reported. But I'm working from a very small sample set, so no promises.

I'm getting an error when downloading a specific story from whofic.com. The URL is http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=16941 and the error that's coming up is "List index out of range". Is this an error on whofic's end or is there something that you can do? If it's whofic's error, I have a work around, just wanted to know why this one is having fits when the rest from the same person works fine. Thank you and thank you for this wonder plugin. My free time isn't happy, but I am. :-)

That story has <br> tags in the story description that are breaking the metadata parsing.

That's a story from 2007, and I don't see any other stories on that site that have <br>s in the description--which would fail the same way. So I'm not inclined to spend a lot of time trying to fix it.

If you run across more stories with the same problem, let me know and I may reconsider.

Already tried it and it worked (sans the limitation you already described). While the missing description is unfortunate, at the very least saving the actual story is now possible.

You mentioned problems with the metadata. Upon downloading, or rather trying to, the log gives an "HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error". The capters 1-53 seem to display normally on FH (54 does not show), but can't be grapped by FFF. Is there anyway to resolve this?

Every other story I tried downloaded just fine.

That error is because fictionhunt.com is misreporting how many chapters it has in the metadata.

Virtually all the other sites gave a full list of chapters somewhere and FFF uses it for the chapter URLs (and counts them to determine numChapters).

fichunt does not; it only gives a partial numeric list that changes depending on how many chapters there are, and what chapter you're on. Rather than put in a bunch of conditional parsing for that, I chose to believe the metadata chapter number.

Given that I only expect people to use fichunt for stories deleted from ffnet, I don't expect that anyone will be regularly updating stories from fichunt. So for now the answer is to manually limit the download to the real number of chapters by using this for the story URL given to FFF:

http://fictionhunt.com/read/4838629/1[-53]

If you find more stories that are wrong about their chapter count, I'll reconsider the issue.

Works! And a simple work-around. Gonna write it down to remember.

On another note: I've customed FFF's personal.ini. Is this file saved seperately somewhere, where it will not be overwritten by updating FFF? Where *exactly* is it located (The FAQ doesn't give the file path)?

If you've changed personal.ini through the plugin config dialog, it (and all other FFF plugin settings) is stored in the Library database. So if you switch libraries, you can create different settings. As a convenience, the first time you switch to a new library and use FFF, FFF will copy your settings from the previous library.

Updates to the plugin will not overwrite your settings properly set using the plugin config dialog.

However, at least once before a user opened the plugin zip file and changed the ini files inside rather than using the config interface. Changes made that way will be overwritten.

This test version is mostly some minor new features I wanted. It's also a bit more 'test' than usual--at least if you're using it with SB & SV.

words_added

The new words_added metadata is for epub logpage only--because that's the only place where the previous word count is available to make the calculation. Example:

logpage_entries:title,...,numWords,words_added,status,version

normalize_chapterurl()

The new normalize_chapterurl() feature for xenforoforum adapters 'normalizes' chapter links so if the thread title changes, it doesn't invalidate all your existing chapters. This is not optional, but always applied.

normalize_text_links

This makes links consistent and fixes some broken links, but it's mostly for the benefit of internalize_text_links.

## Apply adapter's normalize_chapterurl() to all links in chapter
## texts, if they match chapter URLs.  Currently only implemented by
## base_xenforoforum adapters.

internalize_text_links

This is primarily for base_xenforoforum site stories where index posts and linking between 'chapters' internally is common. Now, if internalize_text_links (and normalize_text_links) are true, FanFicFare will make links in the chapter text to other chapters point within the story. Links to other (not chapter) posts will continue to link back to the source.

## Search all links in chapter texts and, if they match any included
## chapter URLs, replace them with links to the chapter in the
## download.  Only works with epub and html output formats.
## base_xenforoforum adapters should also use normalize_text_links
## with this.

It skipped chapter 1 in both stories. I'm using Calibre x64 v2.69.0 on Win 10 x64
