Kobo does state not to plug the device in if the USB port is wet.
But to wait till it is dried out. I tested the reader by submerging it in the bathtub on purpose. It is still working.

If that makes sense Because the lines are much longer, I can 'read forward' much better: read something, and process it, while you read the next few words already. Thus I can continue on the next line, very often without breaking the flow of my reading. On the Kindle, that is much harder because the lines are short.

That makes way more sense than I initially thought it did just from reading the first paragraph in my email inbox, thank you for including the analogy that made it clear! At first I was sort of like, "The lines are longer, doesn't that mean the same thing...?" but it was very clear =).

Sadly, although Best Buy now has the reader it has no floor model, but I will get it tomorrow anyways, I'm pretty sure my mind's made up ahaha.

I ordered my Aura One and sleepcover on the 31st of Aug from Chapters and today the cover shipped.

That's great, maybe you can find a book somewhere that fits so you can use it for reading.

I couldn't resist, got mine yesterday. Am loving it already.
Been an expensive week, got an Echo too once it was released wednesday.
At least I'll have plenty of time to play with my new toys, as I can't afford to go out for the rest of the month.

I can see what you guys mean by the gap between the screen and case; while I'm still waiting for it to charge, I'm curious to see if light will shine through. There's a gap where I can see some of the glue on the upper-right side, but it doesn't run the full length of the reader.

I'd just like to note that I waited for it to come out in Best Buy so I could get the extended warranty; I haven't had a reader last over a year yet, but just in case this one does the extension will be very useful.

I've had the Aura One for a while (I LOVE it) I'm a case guy and hated that it has been so hard to incase it!

I want a sleepcover and it has been out of stock longer that the KA1.

boy oh boy I'm glad I waited for my sleep cover! it looks like the cover is now SOLD OUT. October 30th is the earliest on Kobo's site and Chapters has removed it from sales!

I can agree with this, it's taking its time for the cover. I purchased them both around the same time as most but have not heard anything about it let alone my replacement I requested on the 10th expect to wait another three to four weeks

It seems to me that the limit varies from epub to epub. Some I can get to very small font sizes on one line, others cut to two columns at much bigger sizes, for the same font.

I find this really annoying, part of the appeal of kobo ereaders for me is the ability to use very small fonts.

Got my KA1 on Thursday (direct from Kobo) together with sleep cover. Loving it! The natural light business takes some getting used to. The size of the unit is just right for me and I find it more comfortable than the Aura HD.

I'd suspect this would require patching the librmsdk.so.1.0.0 file. The other option is to change the epubs to kepub. Changing the type can be done on the fly when the epub is sent to your device or in your Calibre library depending on how you want to set it up.

I admit the switch to two colums is not something that bothers me as these old eyes are not happy reading with such small font sizes.
