The KOBO CSR just informed me the update is been delayed to the 3th of October. The reason is that they are working to improve/fix some other issues found on the KOBO AURA ONE beside the battery problems.

There's plenty of issues besides the battery draining bug. I'm glad they're taking their time with this.

Hardware related only to the Aura One, of related to this firmware.. as i remember correctly that others that installed this firmware on other devices also report a battery drain?
Concluding that... the reading stats are not updated (must be seen very quick so i don't understand how that survives testing) and battery problems.. it takes a long time between the last firmware release so you would think that it was tested the right way.. not bashing mented,but every new firmware they bring, has bugs.
I know that this isn't fair because all software has, but like the reading stats,that must be found before releasing if tested correctly..

Can the new firmware update (when it's released) be avoided by simply not turning on wifi/syncing?

The firmware is only downloaded and updated during a sync. If you don't sync, you don't get the update.

Yes, it's a known bug in 4.0.7523 that the finished books count isn't updated in the stats. It should be fixed in the next release.

I see some new Kobo posters, so an FYI...

(I believe) davidfor is part of a beta group, so he probably has an idea of what's in the works. Davidfor, please correct me if I am wrong.
