I bought a 128GB microSD card formatted in FAT32, loaded it with some files, and plugged it into my Boox Max. The problem I'm facing is that Max takes a long time (almost an hour) to check for error in the card, before the card is ready for access. Any idea what I should do to improve this situation?

It might be that my comment is not valid for the Onyx devices, as I haven't actually got one that has configuration for pen input but here is what I did on the Vivotab anyway.
The Vivotab pen configuration/initialisation process consists of offering a screen covered with dots or very small circles, where you are supposed to tap with your pen. On an earlier version of the pen driver I had the problem that, after I had tapped on the dots and closed the process, the writing that the pen produced was offset from where I was holding the pen. I found that, by not tapping on the dots but slightly to the side or below or above, I could get the writing to be below the pen. Exactly where I had to tap I could find only by trying it and it was a long process. However it did work. Hopefully that's more understandable. |

Communication with Ereader store
Hello,
during last 3 days I sent 3 messages to ereader-store.de from two e-mail addresses. There is no still an answer! Where is famous German "Ordnung"? And, before I received a message from them about custom potential problems that does not agree with information from my native Ukrainian custom. I ask Booxtor to look into intensive discussion in the-ebook.org forum (Onyx Max, pages 6 and 7). Thanks. |

Okay, I've decided to embark on the Boox Max ship... in spite of the not so abundant reviews, I'm quite confident it will fit my needs (Mine isn't shipped yet).
There isn't of lot of choice left by our friends the constructors (Sony DPT is the only competitor in this range, and almost 3 years old.). You can see on the list of my devices that I've tried quite a lot of them before... The last one was an LCD tablet. Thanks to it (I think), I've suffered from early morning awakening insomnia, bad sleep in general. Last edited by Huyggy; 09-15-2016 at 10:05 AM. |

I'm wondering if we should leave Max on all the time to skip the waiting period? I haven't employed this strategy yet, and am not sure how fast this is going to drain the battery.

I have just found a way to reduce the start-up time.
1. On the external SD card move your documents out of the Books folder into a folder with a different name. Make sure that the Books folder is empty. The plan is to use the documents on the external card as a feeder for the Books folder on the device. 2. Keep as few documents as possible in the Books folder on the device. Just copy from the external card the ones you want to use at present. 3. In Home/Settings/User Setting check both 'Only scan Books folder on internal storage' and 'Only scan Books folder on SDCard'. Now when you start up the device will scan a minimum number of documents before opening. I found it quite a lot quicker. |

I've received my BOOX MAX recently.
I've got some questions concerning its use: 1) Is it possible to create annotation from the Boox Max? clicking on annotation seems to be used only to display previously created notes (in other programs?) 2) Is is possible to read 2 pages side-by-side? (I didn't find the option in "navigation") 3) What's the use of the little white triangle on the upper right corner of an open pdf? When I click on it, it becomes black. I'm confused by its meaning? ![]() 4) Is there an option to get the history of already sought words in the dictionary? Lots of questions... Thanks a lot in advance for all Boox Max happy owners! |

One of the interest of the Onyx Boox Max is to put the reading in landscape mode and make two pages visible side-by-side, just like when you read a real book. In OnyxNeoReader, there is an option to put the reading in landscape mode but I could not find one setting to put 2 pages side by side. Another question : is it possible to jump to random pages with OnyxNeoReader ? When opening PDFs I just cannot find something in the menu for this. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards |
