Just check the various threads for your f/w level. The majority of patches are device independent (but ARE f/w revision dependent).

I can't seem to find anything for the touch 2.0 (model N587), and I'm a little lost here, is there a "noobs guide" or something?

What firmware are you running? The hacks are not dependent on your specific Kobo, but your specific firmware version. So check what firmware and then look in the Kobo developers forum for hacks/patches for the firmware you are running.

No firmware archive seems to be available for the touch 2.0.

The Touch 2 uses the same firmware update package as the Glo HD.
