However, I do agree that it is only appropriate in certain circumstances. I think that its overuse is one of the reasons that it is disliked by so many people. |

Chicago. It is the only reading font for me. And so readable in various light conditions, particularly in the small size and close spacing I prefer, to minimize page turns

I have used Charis SIL for long on my readers. Recently I have developed a taste for Bookerly, which I find pretty comfortable for long hours of reading. I think I am going to stick to it. Occasionally I also use Scene (a paid font) and Exo, which are good sans serifs.

I have a new favorite called Cyntho Slab Pro, a slab serif, as name implies. There's a free (as in beer version)

My base font on my Onyx M92 is set to Minion Pro. If I get something with more ppi, I will probably change to Adobe Garamond Pro, as it is a very beautiful font, but renders horribly on low res devices at normal text font sizes.

I really want the long ascenders and descenders. I've tried a lot of fonts, but most I find become a blur.
I do like sans-serif fonts while reading (webpages) on a monitor, but serif fonts while reading (books) on a tablet/ereader. I've settled on a font called Thesis SSi, which I found on a WordPerfect font CD. |

![]() Chicago was disliked by many many people when Apple first used it. Printouts also looked terrible when that font was used. Obviously one person likes it. But (IMHO) there are so many better fonts out there. |

Unless you add weight to Adobe Garamond Pro, it will be too light to comfortably read with. I've some eBooks that embedded AGP and I found it to be too light.
