I will add my support to Comic Sans. One of the things I like about it is that it is readable even at very small sizes, something that's not the case with other typefaces.

However, I do agree that it is only appropriate in certain circumstances. I think that its overuse is one of the reasons that it is disliked by so many people.

I think my favorite is still Times New Roman.

Yep, Times New Roman is still the font which I am comfortable reading with. Arial comes in second.

Oh, I'd definitely agree that it wouldn't be appropriate in every situation, but in the case of using it on my eReader, where the only one having to read it is me, then I think it's okay.

Chicago. It is the only reading font for me. And so readable in various light conditions, particularly in the small size and close spacing I prefer, to minimize page turns

Isn't Chicago that awful font Apple originally chose to use on B&W MACs?

I have used Charis SIL for long on my readers. Recently I have developed a taste for Bookerly, which I find pretty comfortable for long hours of reading. I think I am going to stick to it. Occasionally I also use Scene (a paid font) and Exo, which are good sans serifs.

I have a new favorite called Cyntho Slab Pro, a slab serif, as name implies. There's a free (as in beer version)

My base font on my Onyx M92 is set to Minion Pro. If I get something with more ppi, I will probably change to Adobe Garamond Pro, as it is a very beautiful font, but renders horribly on low res devices at normal text font sizes.

Basic Black (#000000) (#FFFFFF) oops

Who in their right mind make the body of a Novel in any other shade?

I understand color fonts in Manga, code examples and captions

Note: I read on e-ink

I really want the long ascenders and descenders. I've tried a lot of fonts, but most I find become a blur.

I do like sans-serif fonts while reading (webpages) on a monitor, but serif fonts while reading (books) on a tablet/ereader.

I've settled on a font called Thesis SSi, which I found on a WordPerfect font CD.

I'm glad it's not my dirty socks. PU!

Chicago was disliked by many many people when Apple first used it. Printouts also looked terrible when that font was used. Obviously one person likes it. But (IMHO) there are so many better fonts out there.

Here's a link that gets you an even better free deal. You can pick up the regular and the italics for free. You could buy the bold versions or try using a font editor to add weight to them to make them bold.

Unless you add weight to Adobe Garamond Pro, it will be too light to comfortably read with. I've some eBooks that embedded AGP and I found it to be too light.
