Thank you, that helped me. Looks like I finally have an ETA (September 23rd), which Chapters was unable to give me. For what it's worth though, I couldn't find that date on the Chapters website, just on Kobo's.

Of course, now that I go back to fInd it on the Chapters website, I can't. But the sleepcover, which did not show any eta date, now shows September 23, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that both the One and the sleepcover will be available on the 23rd, since I ordered another One for my daughter just two days ago.

In essence, I like the cover, even though it's expensive... if they only had left the stand crap stuff out of it and had made the cover as rigid (and padded) as possible, I would have ordered it instantly.

Now I'm doubting... maybe I'll order it at a store that has a good return policy. I'll then have it tomorrow, and if I don't like it, it goes right back. Maybe. I'll see if I can find a review first.

I am really liking the Aura One so far, but I am super worried about carrying it around without any kind of protection. And I don't like that folding cover they have for it -- especially if it triggers page turns. I'd like something like the Swees case I have for my Voyage -- but they haven't made one yet, and even that might make the device too heavy.

So I just ordered this screen protector, maybe it will be enough. For $9 I figure it is worth a try -- unless it is going to screw up the screen with some kind of adhesive. I guess I'll find out.

I like the fact that it's a slim fit cover, that's still kept shut by magnets (AFAIK) *without* protruding metal parts or clasps. The only thing I possibly don't like is the way the cover folds to become a stand. I just have the idea that it'll make the cover really floppy.

I could just go ahead and order it. I'm on holiday next week, and if I don't like the cover, I'll just post it back on Monday or Tuesday. The store I'd be ordering has a *very* good return policy.

I'm a customer there that they'd probably both love and hate at the same time. I buy a lot there, but I also return items regularly; I think the ratio to keep:return is about 6:4 or maybe 7:3. Often, it's the cheaper items that don't live up to expectations.

About the Kobo software:

If they would just debug the full screen option, and introduce it as an official setting, their software would be good enough for me. It irks me that they keep insisting on wasting huge amounts of space, especially when displaying KEPUB. Even if they'd put the title and progression on the page, there is no need to make it take up three or four lines each.

Can someone confirm that line spacing actually works?

I don't see a difference between the lowest setting and the largest line spacing.

I've tried Amasis, Georgia & Kobo Nickel.

I saw Noreve is releasing one soon. Usually they all have rigid covers, but they're quite pricey.

Inside pockets, irregular edges, flaps, tabs... nah. Not for me.

I want something like the Gecko cover, but with a retaining flap over the side where you slide in the reader, just like I have on my Kindle now. (That cover for the Paperwhites seems to have gone; I can only find all the same slim fit covers from China, with the buckles, clasps, and metal tabs.)

Same here, the ereader was delivered in Melbourne within a week of despatch from Canada, still waiting on the Cover.

My replacement is astonishingly superior to the original one. I replaced it due to a bright spot, but compared to the new one, the lighting on the original is indeed bad. What a difference. I guess this is what the One should look like. In the picture they're both set at the same level for brightness and natural light. Replacement on the left.
