Some publishers, of course, update by creating a new edition and deleting the old one from the catalog, leaving early buyers with the screwed up edition. |

The publisher can only mark the book's web page as "new edition" and hope for the best. |

I've had many books update with new editions (even full format changes from Topaz to AZW or AZW3, to correct abysmal formatting), both fiction and nonfiction. Another I've purchased has a new edition and no amount of deleting and re-purchasing will get me the new version at Amazon (customer support and I tried, back when it was on sale, before giving up). Perhaps they have fixed this last glitch, but I suspect not (and it isn't unique to Amazon, but some others lean the other way, replacing your book with a new edition with no notice at all and when you download it, there it is (and sometimes a completely different book, as I've had a few do that, when the ASIN is re-used for a new title, which publishers should know not to do, but they do it anyway). |

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZP5WLQG https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/eb...e-cold-between SYNOPSIS From debut author Elizabeth Bonesteel, The Cold Between is the start to a stellar military science fiction series that combines hints of mystery and romance with action and adventure in the tradition of Elizabeth Moon, Linnea Sinclair, and Lois McMaster Bujold. When her crewmate, Danny, is murdered on the colony of Volhynia, Central Corps chief engineer, Commander Elena Shaw, is shocked to learn the main suspect is her lover, Treiko Zajec. She knows Trey is innocent—he was with her when Danny was killed. So who is the real killer and why are the cops framing an innocent man? Retracing Danny’s last hours, they discover that his death may be tied to a mystery from the past: the explosion of a Central Corps starship at a wormhole near Volhynia. For twenty-five years, the Central Gov has been lying about the tragedy, even willing to go to war with the outlaw PSI to protect their secrets. With the authorities closing in, Elena and Trey head to the wormhole, certain they’ll find answers on the other side. But the truth that awaits them is far more terrifying than they ever imagined . . . a conspiracy deep within Central Gov that threatens all of human civilization throughout the inhabited reaches of the galaxy—and beyond. |

Book 1 has previously been discounted and now book two is on sale The King's Justice by Katherine Kurtz (The Histories of King Kelson Book 2) https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/eb...ng-s-justice-3 https://www.amazon.com/Kings-Justice.../dp/B01AYTUQ14 SYNOPSIS A young liege goes to battle in a medieval land teetering on the brink of civil war and church-sanctioned genocide in the second chronicle of the reign of King Kelson In troubled Gwynedd, the crown sits heavy on the head of King Kelson Haldane. In a realm historically torn asunder by deep-seated suspicion and fear of the magical Deryni who live among them, young Kelson is both beloved for his humanity and abhorred for his Deryni blood. Now, the traitorous cleric, Bishop Loris, has joined forces with Queen Caitrin, the Pretender of Meara, in her attempts to rip her homeland away from Gwyneddan rule. But Loris has even darker intentions. His scheme to reignite the terrible flames of holy civil war against the Deryni, coupled with Caitrin’s campaign of violent secession, draw Kelson and his army away from the royal court—where, in the king’s absence, an assassination plot is brewing. An extraordinary world-builder, acclaimed fantasist Katherine Kurtz returns readers to the Middle Ages of an alternate Earth in her continuing chronicles of the Deryni. Kurtz’s second history of the troubled reign of King Kelson is a breathtaking tale of majesty, magic, war, treachery, faith, and intolerance that once again brings a fascinating world and its diverse peoples to glorious life. |

through Kobo. I did not check other retailers. But the list of books concerned is pretty hard to read: just thumbnails of the book covers. Unless I missed the proper page to use. BTW Anyone has recommendations within that list ? more on SF than fantasy side ? I would appreciate. |
