@Big Library Guy. You are new to this, and entitled to some leeway. AFter all, we were all new to this at some time. Unfortunately, your continued posts here are merely emphasising that you do not undetstand. The best way to fix this is to visit and read carefully the instructions at Apprentice Alf's blog. If you are still not able to get it working you can post there where people can help you without breaching any guidelines. Your first assumption should not be that because you as a new user can't get this working that something must be wrong with Calibre and/or the Plugin. I have a fair notion of what you are probably doing wrong, and if I am right it is in the instructions. The people at Apprentice Alf's blog are nice civilised people and won't just reply to you with RTFM, even if you did miss something in the documentation. And if it is some other problem they can also assist in sorting things out. Both Calibre and the Plugin are working fine. Addendum: By the way, this is the only working plugin that I am aware of. There is an unscrupulous company which repackages this free and open source product and charges you for it, but I don't count them other than to warn you against dealing with them. calibre has not stopped working, working versions do not magically break and actual legitimate regressions are rare and usually fixed immediately after reporting. Depending on the breakage an emergency hotfix may be released. The plugin system has not suffered a fatal regression or we would all know. ... The calibre developer will sarcastically recommend people to downgrade calibre, if they complain about regressions that don't exist and then refuse to lisen to the help they are given. To date that has never solved a single problem, but the placebo effect occasionally makes them happy anyway. | |

The only exception is the big change from 1.48 to 2.00, where calibre basically broke everything at once, and all plugins having a user interface had to be modified to support the newer version of the Qt libraries that Calibre transitioned to. That took some time, so many people just stayed on version 1.48 for a few days/weeks/months until their favorite plugins were ported, and then then moved over, mostly without problems. There have been bugs, of course, and I actually reported a number of them myself, and tested the fixes. Most of the time, those bugs were mostly with regard to unexpected behavior of some part of Calibre itself, and not with regard to the ability to use and execute plugins. A short hint to get your DRM-setup working: Install Kindle4PC (and Adobe Digital Editions version 2.01) before you install Alf's tools. Remove everything and re-install if necessary. Can someone post if they've recently successfully bought a kobo book, downloaded via ADE or Sony Reader and cleanly imported into calibre. Thanks |

I have (as late as yesterday, I think I have ADE 1.7, and the last tools and calibre release for sure). BTW, as there are some coupons floating around, I've been in a bit of frenzy purchasing at Kobo, and no problem at all. Last edited by Terisa de morgan; 09-14-2016 at 02:59 AM. I have too, about the beginning of the month, downloading from Kobo via ADE (using Windows 10), and running through Calibre with plugins. No Kobo Desktop involved.

No problems for me yesterday with Kobo via ADE 2.0.1 then the latest calibre and Alf plugin. A comment over at Alf's mentions that it may be a bit longer than usual getting Obok running again because Kobo has made a more substantial change this time. |
