Is it just a matter of selecting the mode from the dropdown? Will I have to do this every time a new firmware is released? Thanks, V Well, I just did the easiest thing and used the dropdown and changed the entry to delete. I went into Calibre and removed a book. It seems ok. The book is not on the device or in either list (calibre or the Kobo). Last edited by volpo; 09-10-2016 at 08:05 PM.

I think this is safe, but I cannot be sure. I did use this on one of my devices for a few week until I changed the driver. But, it is probably a stopgap. If Kobo more use of other features of the later SQLite version, it is likely that this won't work any more.

I just remembered another change in this firmware. Though it might have been on the server as well. The finished state of books is now synced between devices correctly. In the past, as you read a purchase kepub on one device, the reading status was synced to other devices. But, when you finished the book, the other device usually was synced to zero percent read. And after another sync or two, that was brought back to the device you finished the book on. Now, the finished state is correctly synced to the other device. |

Thanks, davidfor, I hope that bug with the finished state is really corrected. It's annoying to finish the same book once and again during days after the real end because the books get synchronized to 1% read. |

Has anyone attempted using this firmware on the Aura H20? I'm aware it's for the newer hardware. I'm interested if the Overdrive capability can be used on the older model. Thanks

1) It can be loaded, at least others have done so. 2) Doing so wont give you Overdrive functionality, at least not in full. If you have a Kobo One and link an Overdrive account, books you borrow can be synced to the H2O running 4.x.

They did, but actually it disappeared back about the Glo HD. Not sure part of the issue isn't they don't want to spend the resources to update it to higher res screens. I'm not sure if there is still hack options to get them back as I think they still exist in the firmware, just no way to launch them.

 comparing 4.x with 3.15.0

I don't know if it is specific to 4.x, but when I open the table of contents from a new book it positions itself to the last line of the last page, instead of the normal first line of the first page I have on 3.15.0 for my H2O and Glo HD. It is a minor thing, not like the dictionaries handling which made me downgrade to 3.15.0 and stay there where possible, but it feels wrong. The position is right once I've started reading. Another minor grumble, and I know it has been so for a while, is that the number or related books when calling information on a book is limited to 4. On 3.15, I have any number of pages necessary, and 8 tiles per page since there is no annoying top line "readers of this book also like" or the ridiculous "buy" line under every book (which are in my reader otherwise wouldn't be called but I suppose it is for the extracts), nor the "show all line". |

hmmm is it just me or does there seem to be an issue with the reading stats on the Aura One firmware. I just finished 2 books but they are not tracked. Any suggestions? 1)epub not kepub 2) side loaded yes. regards Jack |
