I'd like to be able to at least see what full-length audiobooks are available, but my Fire Tablet isn't even showing Channels as a menu option in the Audible app. How weird.

Not coming up on my windows phone app, or my Fire phone.

ETA - got to the free streaming books via my no contract android phone. There are a few I might want to listen to. But yeah, streaming only is not all that useful.

Amazon in its infinite wisdom has deemed that their own devices (Fire, Phone, Echo, etc) aren't worthy of this feature. Audible Channels is available via the Audible apps for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.

From what I've read, Prime members get full access to Audible Channels just like Audible members. In addition, Prime members get access to Prime exclusive content not available to Audible members.

Edit: the Prime exclusive content consists of a rotating selection 50+ full-length audiobooks in nine different categories. Each channel has anywhere from 5 to 7 audiobooks. Content is available for streaming only. Downloads not allowed.

There is a workaround to get audiobooks from Channels to play on Echo devices. Start the book on an Android, iOS, or Windows device and then say "Alexa, read my book". Alexa will then start playing the last book listened to.

Of course, that's an extra step and requires another device; but it only needs to be done once. My Moto E works great for fetching these Channels books, plus it's a jim-dandy Echo remote.
