It is here and charging right now.

First impression: I love it! Easy to hold in one hand and am in awe of the screen size. I just hope it will continue to be such a joy when I finally can start using it.

BTW, the shop I ended up ordering from still has some left (they had 92 when I ordered and are down to 8 units right now), so if anyone in Germany wants to order from them, they are fast and very good. Shipping notice with tracking number and all.

MediaMarkt, eh? I preordered mine there (mostly because I had a voucher from them I could use), but they bumped up the delivery time by two weeks about as soon as I did.

Ended up cancelling my preorder there and preordering from BOL.COM, which promptly delivered on the 6th.

They received my money yesterday (PayPal somehow did work weird) and I got my shipping information last night at 10 p.m. and tata, device was on my doorstep at 8.30 am.

So I am quite confident you'll get yours very fast.

I am still bummed that a no-name shop has about a hundered of them and Mediamarkt and Saturn can't deliver. Oh, I have an order at Mediamarkt I'd better cancel now.

Regarding big shops and such ... Fnac Spain could not deliver either, and bumped back my delivery date 3 times in a row. In the end, their CS lady I had on the phone said to me they really did not know when they were going to get them. I think their Madrid shop has some now, but that's about it, and there are not enough for deliveries. I cancelled and ordered somewhere else on the 6th, and they had no problems at all delivering it to Spain on the 9th.

Is yours slow too?

It seems to be very slow compared to my Aura. Reminds me of my very first device before the PRS-350... which means it has a distinct 2010 feeling to it.

La Central bookshops received them past Friday 9th, at least in Barcelona, don't know about Madrid.

I received an email from FNAC Spain to collect it at FNAC Callao (Madrid), on Saturday 10th at 9 AM.

Thank you so much! Alas it didn't help. I was able to write it into the conf. just fine, but it doesn't seem to stick or change anything.

Well, looks like I'm dumber than I thought I was... Last time when I got the Aura (in April 2014) I was able to change what I didn't like. It's tough getting old.

What are you expecting to happen? Adding that option means that the device will not do an automatic sync. If you go to the sync settings page, it should show the option without a tick. But, if you touch anything on that page, you will trigger the bug so the auto sync will be turned on again.

Question for any Mac owners: when you plug in the Kobo One, isn't it supposed to show up as an external drive like a USB thumb drive? Or do you have to interact with it through the Kobo Desktop software? I plugged mine in and the Kobo screen says "Connected and Charging", but it doesn't show up on the computer?

EDIT: OK nevermind I got that solved -- I had to restart my computer and things started showing up again. Not sure what was wrong there.
