Good to know there is no spamming in that group. If I ever get approved. Not sure where notifications are. Tried looking in settings, but that is just my settings stuff. Don't think my brain is wired for facebook. Its so cluttered and convoluted to me. So many tiny links. ![]() eta:, looks like I was just approved. I can already say this will be a time suck reading through all the posts about all the precious. ![]() There is nothing I love more than historical romances, especially the older ones with epic storylines and epic love and substance. I started it in 2014 but never finished it. I was reading it when I was stuck at a Red Roof Inn or nightmare hotel I like to think if it. I never got back to it after we moved. Maybe I'll finally get to finish it.

Is there a wishlist option that I'm missing on the Harlequin website? Looking for an easy way to keep track of the books I'm looking to get for free with my rewards.
(If by some chance I'm not as blind as I think and it's just not there, I guess I could make a makeshift list using GR.) Thanks |

These Old Shades is one of my favorites too, especially because it tees up Devil's Cub, which is also one of my favorite Heyer books. I sort of bounce back and forth between which of the two is my favorite. (Although my absolute favorite Heyer title is The Unknown Ajax, which I can reread like once a year and still not be bored...)
It's fun to note some of the differences in the background settings between Shades and Devil's Cub since they are separated in time by quite a few years. |

These Old Shades was one of the first romances I ever read and got me into my love affair with Georgette Heyer and Georgians/Regencies in general. It's still one of my favorites. You have to be okay with the age difference though.....

Speaking of Regencies, here's a free Regency with some fantasy elements that looks really interesting:
Miss Landon and Aubranael by Charlotte E. English (sorry - no clickable link. I'm on my iPad and it's giving me some trouble with copying). |

I love regency romances. I just DNF one that came out by a very popular author. I no longer care if they are mistoricals but the writing and grammar was really weak and the story lacked depth. I went back and picked up one of her older titles from a few years ago and wow the difference. Strong writing and and it just flowed like a fairy tale. I'm going to read this one. My big question is what happened? Is there any other authors who latest work shows they are losing their ability to tell a good story?
