Unhappy trouble connecting on Linux
Anybody else has issues connecting the Aura One to Linux ?
This is the first USB device that my PC has trouble seeing.

[ 109.469483] usb usb3-port14: disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...
[ 109.469487] usb 3-14: USB disconnect, device number 7
[ 109.470277] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdf] Synchronizing SCSI cache
[ 139.874178] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdf] Unhandled error code

It does work from a Chromebook though so I cannot entirely fault the e-reader ...

With the same firmware rev.?
Orange is produced by red and green lights of RGB leds, clearly the red is produced by only red light of RGB leds so, or your previous KA1 had RGB leds problem or the behavior have been changed in the new firmware.

I wasn't satisfied by the screen uniformity so I returned it because there's a Fnac in my city (I live in France), and an exchange takes 5 minutes.
The new one is not much different but I'll keep it (same as what you describe) because it's not disturbing like it was on my former Oasis and it's not like I read with frontlight set to 100 %.

I guess you're right, but I don't remember if I tested night mode after the 4.0.7523 update with the old one (the new one is automatically updated when you initialize the ereader).

It could be interesting if cerem0ny, or anyone with reddish night mode, didn't update and is about to, in order to identify if it's a hardware problem, or just a software adjustment.

About serial number : first one ended by 6052, second and last one by 6113.

We don't know anything about the conditions under which Lesen took their photo, so comparing two photos will be difficult.

You could try asking them?

I have fully updated my Kobo and yes it is still very very red. That orange looks very nice though, thanks for sharing!

Sure, the only thing I'm one hundred percent sure is that my first one was strictly identical (compared to the reddish picture), with FW 3.20.6894.

I personnaly prefer orange, auto adjusting before sleeping was less disturbing when I read before sleeping yesterday.

Could you please check your serial number ? I wonder if your unit was produced before or after mine.

I agree, I think the orange is at least kind of readable, the red is so disturbing as to be pretty much unusable. Night mode on ipads is pretty bad too, such a strong sepia colour it really bothers me! But im not complaining, I think ill keep auto off all the time and just keep it at the same orange/yellow balance its on now. Never had a problem with eye strain using ereaders before, always out like a light!

I put the eReader to sleep from last night.

When I got up this morning the battery drained from 90% to 20%!

I do noticed that the eReader seems to be continuously syncing. This could be cause of the battery drain.

I am going to try out the eReader with the auto light and wi-fi turned off.

Not sure! Mine was updated immediately to the 4.0 version out of the box so never had an Aura One with an earlier version. But yeah the update fixes the battery issue I believe.
