Yes, now if I could just figure out a way to attach them to my body so I can walk around the house (while I'm waiting for the propane guy to come out).

I need a suit with large pockets all over it. Large enough to put a sleeping cat comfortably in each one.

Granted, it will mean hauling close to an extra 190 pounds of weight around with me, but ...... nah.

I think, just for the heck of it, after I call the propane guys today, I'm going to make up the fire and bring in the firescreen. I'm also going to hunt down my down booties and other gear so I've got that handy.

I did end up doing a long stint in the steam room last night, then put on a few layers of clothing and jumped into bed with as much bedding as I could find piled on top. I'm sure I looked like a load of wash, but I was warm.
Warm is good. I'm from the panhandle of Texas, originally, just about midway between Amarillo and the Oklahoma line. Then the last ten years I was there we moved down to what's fondly known as the "Big Country"...between Ft. Worth and Abilene.
Up in the Panhandle, it gets cold and stays that way, and the wind sure doesn't help matters. The Abilene area is more temperate, but it does still snow occasionally and get cold, though as the other poster pointed out, it doesn't STAY cold for long.
It was really funny when I moved up here though when people would assume I had never seen snow.

I'm glad you made it through warmly, load of laundry or not. Hope they make it out to check your propane tank soon!

He was out here about an hour ago. It turns out the gas regulator froze, so I had gas ... just wasn't getting any to the house. The tank was actually 70 percent full.

I was told to stuff some old towels down around the gas regulator to keep it from freezing. Sigh.
