I read Reid's Quadroon from yesterday noon to about 3 in the morning right through. Posted it five minutes ago. A really good novel, if you're in the genre (historical fiction adventure romance with a pulpy edge). Loved it! Tired now, of course.

In Don Quixote, our loopy hero goes on insane quests, then returns home, then goes on another quest, and so on. It's very tedious to read, unless you sort of break it up into individual episodes, like a short story collection. BTW, quixotism is a characteristic, not necessarily a name. Today, we might call him "Mr. Oblivious." |

Thanks! So you recommend Quadroom? Can you give a little more info? I like historical fiction also. Do you know how to do the spoiler alert? At the top of the reply box, where the icons for font and stuff reside, there is an eyeball icon. Highlight the paragraphs and click the eyeball.

Glad to see you are feeling well DixieGal!
I'm reading Sherry Thomas' "Delicious," and it is making me hungry (the heroine is a really good chef). And it's not even close to lunchtime ![]() |

I'm currently reading a Robert Sheckley SF novel, "The Status Civilization," a very satirical look at modern society.
Sheckley was a wonderful satirist whom I first encountered in some old 1950s issues of Galaxy Magazine. Highly recommended. Don |

I'm working my way through HarryT's upload of the complete Dr. Thorndyke series by R. Austin Freeman. I started it in early January and am up to "The Cat's Eye" in volume 3. At this rate, I'll be living in Dr. Thorndyke's world for at least another month.

I just recently finished "The Third Secret" by Steve Berry. A 'Da Vinci Code" type thriller - it was an entertaing read, until you find out what the third secret turns out to be - what a let down that was, ruined the book!
![]() Now reading 'Tono-Bungay' by H. G. Wells - a slowish start; but it's fair romping along now. ![]() |
