Unlike the previous Kobo bug, which affected every Kobo device, only a small number of Kindle users seem to be affected by this one. It works absolutely fine for me, for example.

And if a book can't be found in kindle the customer can buy it in epub and convert it easily enough via Calibre.

It actually worked fine for me too, when I tested it this morning. I did see that same error on Saturday, however, when I plugged an external hard drive into my brother's laptop, so it seems as if it's not limited to only Kindles.

I don't know if it will affect the cloud either. I mean some do upload books via Send to Kindle or go directly to their cloud drive page to do so.

But, more people will read about the Win 10/Kindle issue online.

Really? Is it being reported in the regular media? If so, I haven't seen it, and neither have any of the people who come to me for questions about their Kindles. I've seen it reported on some of the tech sites, but nothing so far from any non-tech places.

I saw the one about Kobos and kindles but only here.
On the windows 10 issue.

But the vast majority of Kindle and Kobo readers will never know because they buy and the device downloads the book automatically.

They also don't know what they are missing because they just want something to read their books on.

Note: I am not brand loyal. I have both a kindle and a kobo. And 3 different ereader apps on my tablet.

Oh I also have an old Alturek and a Slick. The Slick makes a better MP3 player than ereader. The Alturek desperately needs a new battery but I only paid $4 for it. I knew I was taking a chance because it had been sitting unused for a little over 2 years when I got it.

And isn't it strange that there's only the one word for extra discrete and continuous things: more.

Oh, you're not alone. Whenever I see the "Ten items or less" checkout sign at my local Asda I have an almost irresistible urge to get out a marker pen, cross out "less" and write "fewer" in its place .

Many don't seem to know the difference between the words "Enter" and "Exit" either. One day some time back I went to go into my local Wal-Mart via the Enter door and this teenage kid nearly ran me down with a cart that he was pushing out the "Enter" door. People just don't seem capable of understanding that one is for people to go into the store and the other is for those who are leaving.

Thank you, I now have visions of two security guards frog-marching a man wielding a black marker pen shouting " but its fewer not less you fools"!

That's not surprising - I have a friend who didn't even know the difference between "flammable" and "inflammable"!

The less/fewer distinction is not a grammatical rule but merely a preference expressed by one grammarian at odds with many prior writers, one of who was a king. The "rule" is wrong.
