Did a factory reset, now no dictionaries

tl;dr: I want my dictionaries back but don't want to sync

My Aura's database got rather confused so I decided to do a factory reset on my Aura.

The first thing that happened is that it synced my books bought from Kobo to my Aura. Then I removed the Wifi configuration, and turned off automatic sync. I side load everything from Calibre so I deleted every book. There were two options though, from memory:
  • delete from reader
  • delete from Kobo account

Just deleting from reader leaves a sort of proxy which lets me download the book from kobo.com. Deleting both makes the book completely go away. But what does it do to my purchased books at kobo.com?

Now I've side loaded everything again, I've realised the dictionaries are AWOL. But these can apparently only be installed if I sync, and I'm worried that syncing will either delete purchased stuff at kobo.com, or give me some duplicate books.

What's my best way to get the dictionaries back?

I don't think adding dictionaries will sync your books from kobo.com, add the dictionaries connect via wifi, it only donwload the dictionries.

Edit: you can also sideload kobo dictionaries.

There was still a warning that the dictionaries would only download when I synced... but unchecked a dictionary and checked another one, and they downloaded straight away. Phew!

I didn't know you could side load Kobo's, so that's something to remember for the future.
