Jeremiah Knight merges the science of Michael Crichton with the horror of Stephen King in this fresh take on the post-apocalypse, creating a true worst-case scenario for GMO crops that will have people reading labels before eating their next pepper, tomato or kernel of corn.

Sadly, this does sound like the science of Michael Chrichton. A world where there are no science ethics, peer reviews or FDA trials. I love me a new post-apocalyptic thriller as much as the next geek, but come on. Crichton himself beat this trope to death; couldn't we have let it end when he did?

Don't worry about it, it happens fairly often. The thread becomes too large to effectively search, plus sometimes a freebie may have been posted weeks (even months) ago, but is still good. Even those of us who frequent the thread post dupes now and then, so don't feel bad.

I have read this book (I received a free pre-release copy in exchange for an honest reveiw) and just loved it! I'm really looking forward to the rest of the trilogy. I got an email from the author that all five of the titles in Robert Kroese's Mercury series are on sale for today (Aug 29) only at $1.99 at Kindle US. Kroese is one of the more vocal (I think) self-publishers, however, I've read and enjoyed the first three titles in this series, and the premise (not a spoiler since it's in the blurb for the first one) - an End Times reporter who, after years of reporting on "failed" reports of the End Times, actually runs into the real thing - is pretty funny, IMO at least. I've picked up the two I didn't have yet.
