I read about this recently in the Sourcebook newsletter. It sounds like it's romantic high fantasy, which is pretty rare. I think I've seen some by Joan Johnston. I've been trying to decide to buy it, even though I'm not a huge high fantasy reader.

Lots of good reviews on it. I read the first 5 chapters and was totally sucked in but haven't read the rest of it yet.

Nalini Singh mentioned it on her blog. I bought it based on the blurb. It's first person POV which I am not a huge fan of nowadays. But the story looks intriguing. It's the first book of a trilogy. But since it's being marketed as fantasy romance I've been assured there will be a HEA. I plan to read it next unless I don't finish my current book before Monday. If that happens it will have to wait until I've finished the Wild Embrace anthology.

Just FYI, Kobo seems to be having display issues with Nalini Singh's Wild Embrace. It shows the "Buy Now" and "Add to Cart" links. But when you click to checkout it shows 'Complete Pre-order" with the explanation of how the book will available on August 23rd at the top. Did a chat with Kobo who were like whatever, "we'll escalate this and you'll hear back in 24-48 hours". I actually asked them why they don't want my money Anyway, after some back-and-forth, I "pre-ordered" it and it showed immediately in my library. So I was able to download it with no issues.
