Maybe authors should put links in their eBooks to sites that give the reader good views of story locations.

Finished Inheritor by C. J. Cherryh. I've been assigned to a project at work which keeps me busy and allows me some significant overtime. This means my reading rate is slowed a bit, but I'm still going to meet my goal for the year, I am sure.

I quite the backlog in my new books TBR, and I think I will go with a non-fic next, just haven't decided which.

Just started "The Glass Palace". Was reading "The Far Pavilion" but set it aside for now.

I finished my re-read of Neverwhere, the beautiful, Chris Riddell-illustrated, physical edition I got.

Anyway, now I'm reading Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine, the second in her "Great Library" series. It is at least as good as the first book. I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I'm only 40% in, so I'm not sure if there are more books to come after this one.

Finished 'The Lost Temple' by Vishesh Sharma, another mystery thriller written in Dan Brown style, solving puzzles of ancient code and race against time. The book appears to be slow and little disoriented in the first half, but gradually turns out into a fast paced one.

Next up, Departure by A.G. Riddle.

I've been binge-reading Hamish Macbeth mysteries by M. C. Beaton. Now reading Death of a Chimney Sweep, #26 in the series. Only 5 more to read, and I'll be caught up to all that have been written.

Also binging through the Amelia Peabody mysteries by Elizabeth Peters. Next up is The Ape Who Guards the Balance, #10.

I'd like to be reading further in the Expanse series by James S. A. Corey, but I can't convince my library to order Cibola Burn. I may have to use gift-card money to buy a copy!

Bah. I also read this when it as the Phoenix Pick freebie back in July 2014! No wonder it felt so familiar. I see I gave it two stars then as well!

A disappointment. Ridiculously over-powerful characters, and no sense of real peril at all.

Next up: Analog SF, October 2016.

Excellent. I'm really glad this got nominated and I completely enjoyed it.

Currently reading Phoenix in Shadow, number two in Ryk E. Spoor's excellent Phoenix series. I'm quite enjoying this, and also reading a couple of Phoenix short stories that Baen made available for free.

I'm liking this one a lot.
Interference by Amélie Antoine was excellent. I was wrong in my earlier assumption that the story would be told from multiple first-person points of view only, as the husband's tale and some others were told in third person form.

I most definitely did not see chapter thirteen coming!

(This book was translated from the French by Maren Baudet-Lackner.)

I've just finished "One Foot in the Grave", by William Mark Simmons, bought from Baen a very long time ago. Very good fantasy about a man who discovers he is turning into a vampire. A well-used theme, but this one's well done. Recommended.
