books take longer to read on the smaller readers because the books have so many more pages on them.
![]() ![]() ![]() 1. is larger than 2. is larger than 3. (7.8" -> 6.8" -> 6") Waterproof is best to ignore, electronics like to keep dry either way. It's too early to judge the Kobo Aura One... give it 2-3 weeks for people (not just reviewers) to actually get their hands on them and tell us their experiences. |

One and H2O are waterproof.
One is 7.8", H2O is 6.8", HD is 6" One and HD are 300 DPI, H2O is 265DPI One and HD have no external SD card, vs H2O does HD and H2O are claimed 2 month battery, the One has 1 month HD and H2O have 4GB memory, One has 8GB One will have Overdrive, HD and H2O may or may not get it added. Really, size/price are the big differences for most readers. Firmware is pretty much identical so the software part of the interface/display will be the same. The Kobo Aura One has ComfortLightPRO.

Much better waterproofing than the H2O. Quote:
Also, the WOW, OMG, and awsome factors are really high with the Aura One. Plus, it makes the Kindle Oasis look like a piece of junk. |

Hey, it's JSWolf. I don't agree that it makes the Oasis look like a piece of junk but it definitely makes it look (more) overpriced. I expect that the next Kindle reader will also have similar waterproofing and RGB lighting.

And if I remember rightly, Amazon said they looked at waterproofing the Kindles, but it added to much weight.

I really like the red lights on ONE, they make reading at night time much easier. But I won't buy it, I prefer infrared touch and smaller device. Not having infrared is the deal breaker for me. I live under 0C for months, I want to use my reader with gloves. Using styluses and gloves that work with touch screens aren't really solutions I will accept.
But I am sure there will be a new Glo HD-like device sometime. Last edited by GERGE; 08-21-2016 at 02:48 AM. |

I never used a Kobo reader with good page turn buttons. My Kobo wifi had 5 way switch under stiff flexible pad that made page turn effort much harder than it should have been. Kobo Touch is much better and Kobo touch came with faster processor and faster page turns. Having page turn buttons in addition to touch screen page turns is a nice option that I would also use.

Well, even the Voyage makes the Oasis look bad.
