![]() Seriously, looking at what I've spent on the ebooks in my library, the cost of the ereader is a relatively minor item. |

I love the cover. If a third party makes an identical cover, I might have to buy the reader and the copied cover. I have that style on my Fire HD 6 & 8, and it's really nice.

With the known fragility of the glass substrate, this would be a selling point and they would have mentioned it. |

Kobo also neglected to tell us the awesome details about the frontlight, so I wouldn't jump to any conclusions.

Do you mean the technical details of how it works? I wouldn't expect them to. They focused on how it improved the reading experience. But, using a non-glass substrate means the device is more robust. That is something they can use as a selling point that.

I'm with the Canuck, I'm interested, but the marketing speak would be something about "the most even light". They have mentioned how they did the waterproofing by coating everything rather than sealing the case. That's important as when you pull it out of the water, water will run out. What I'm surprised is that they didn't use this to explain why it is so light.
My logic isn't perfect, but with all the broken screens out there, if they went to a plastic substrate, I think the added durability would be prominently mentioned. |

I like to think that Kobo has a little more integrity than to use BS marketing like Amazon did on that one. They really had NO CHOICE but to bump it to 10 LED's since they were covering a wider area (the height of the screen, not just the thinner width). If they bumped it from 5 to 10 across the bottom then they might have something legit to claim.
