So Who's Still Loving Their Kindle Voyage? - Page 16

I love my voyage, but not for the reason I brought it. That magical page turning button. It seems my hands do not hold it in the correction position to use it with ease. Plus it is rather hard to push (I have MS). It is far easier to tap the screen with my thumb. I love the shape , the size and the weight. All improvements over my beloved Paperwhite. The new Oasis shape makes no sense for my hands. I like the idea of even lighter, but I will not so call trade up unless the size is right for me.
On a side not, I hate the update with a passion, my brain fights every time I return to the home screen and want to select a book. It just changes to view back to what it wants, not the one I use.

If you dislike the new home page, just turn it off. That way you'll go directly to the library screen which behaves exactly as it always has done.

My Voyage got stolen today...*sigh* It's a very sad day for me. Thinking of buying that White-version Paperwhite to replace it.

Did you try adjusting the page turn buttons. It's in settings under reading options, then page press, then pressure settings. You can adjust it to low, medium or high. I don't remember what the preset was (probably medium) but I adjusted mine to low and they are much easier to use.

I am very pleased with my Voyage. My only slight regret is not getting the model with 3G. Occasionally, that would be very useful.

I'm retiring in November so I upgraded my wifi Voyage to the 3G model. Hubby had my Wifi version. I'm so glad I did it's really handy and I got it when they did the sale back in May.

I converted my mother from a K3 to a Voyage during May's sale. She's loving the easier ability to look up a word you don't wholely understand. I am too, with my Voyage!

Although I don't have a Voyage, I can see why this device is still loved: it has a better screen (from those that I have seen) from all the other kindles (including the Oasis I have seen).
I may put this on my wish list when it goes on sale again (I have a bad feeling that if there is ever a Voyage 2, it will have the same grey fonts which are plaguing many of the kindle production runs lately).

I still love my Voyage. I like the Oasis also quite a bit, but I don't love it in the same way. If I had to have just one, it would be the Voyage. The squarer Oasis shape just doesn't feel right to me. And I prefer the flush page press buttons on the Voyage, with adjustable pressing strength, to the too easily clickable buttons on the Oasis.

How would you compare the lettering on the screen? Some have said that the Oasis looks a tad less clear, due to something related to the touch-screen surface.

Refurbished isn't a bad option. That's what I did. They are listed at $152 on amazon US. Here's a thread with a bit more info.

One if my biggest gripes with my Mom's paperwhite was that the screen responded too slow, so I would tap twice and you know what happens. Not a problem at all with the Voyage. So, I read one handed all the time and just press the screen for next page.

When editing a book, however, I still find the Kindle hdx superior for marking and going back. Annoyingly, they keep changing the software making this a lot harder.

Paul, if you have a Smartphone, apparently you can link your kindle to the Smartphone. That would give you the same access as 3g. I just replaced my flip phone with a low IQ smartphone so still not an option for me.

Sure - just use the "personal WiFi hotspot" feature of the phone. Both iOS and Android support this. I use it quite a lot.
