Do you see a theme there?

The book's marked down 92%. It's rated 5.0 stars at Amazon, and it's the best seller in the Kindle store in 2 categories (also 1 category in regular Amazon books).

However, I'm not trying to promote the book. Really, I'm not. I have some serious reservations about it. From the limited amount of photographs in the book (they're great, by the way) that you can see in the book's preview at Amazon, they just don't look like things that "real" people will eat very often. The book's been out only a little over 4 months, so maybe people who've bought the cookbook just haven't used the cookbook enough to know that. Or maybe I'm just wrong. I'm just one person and so that's just one opinion.

If you buy it and get to "thumb" through it, would you share your thoughts about the book with the rest of us?

Even though the book is only $1.99, it seems kinda expensive for just 12 recipes. But, maybe they're really, really, really good ones. In truth, there are many recipes in the book, plus just a lot of general tips about doing good cooking. Not that any of ya'll need that.

Even though there are lots of reviews/ratings at Amazon for the book, for some reason I felt a need to check GoodReads, too. I'm glad that I did. Their raters give this book an average of 4.12 (very high for them) from 228 ratings.

In addition to being the 2015 IACP Cookbook Award (as mentioned in the book description), this is also a New York Times Bestseller.

Take it from a real Southerner (me). The food in this book wouldn't pass for Southern in many places in the South other than New Orleans, and New Orleans is not really Southern in culture. However, if you just want to make some good food, regardless of what it's called, the very high ratings of this book lead me to believe that you can do it from its recipes.
