$1,950.00 for a gold plated kindle. Talk about markup. Gold plating averages from 1.0 microns thick to 2.5 microns thick. That kindle probably has less than $10.00 worth of gold on it.

This is what I would do. And being in the business I would get 100% return on the gold. And remember 14K is 58.5% gold the rest is alloys. If you went to a pawn shop you are lucky to get 20%.

Mhh, the KK is 10.2 ounces. in gold let's just double the weight, probably more than that. So about 20 oz. 58.5% makes it 11.7 oz, 20% makes it 2.34 oz. Gold price is roughly $1348 per oz right now, makes it total about $3154. So even at a pawn shop and estimating the weight low, it is still worth it.
