Sigh. I hope they fix that. The convenience of downloading from the browser was great on the kindle.
KOReader is one of the add-on readers for Kobo (and others), that includes OPDS catalog support. This means that you can access sites like "Project Gutenberg", "Feedbooks", "ManyBooks", "Internet Archive", [These are ones included] and any others that have a catalog URL, which you may add. With this approach you browse and download from menus/listings, without having to open a browser. Once you have downloaded your ebooks you can read them with any reader you want.

That sounds great! im guessing thats on the alternate firmware i have seen being mentioned on the forums or is it just an app i have to side load? If so im guessing there is a detailed walk though?

There is now a KOReader Forum . I find this install approach , using KSM8, is the most useful.

Thanks, I will take a look tonight. I was hoping to find videos of koreader on kobo in action on you tube but didn't manage to find one. im particularly interested in the opds catalog support, what the menu looks like and how to add new ones.
